Jobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers, while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isn’t like it used to be—the way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. That’s why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want!
Our culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50™, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500™ lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we’ve come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we’ve just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers.
The team:
Jobber’s Security org is a team of teams—Security Operations, Trust Operations, and GRC—each with clear ownership and shared accountability for protecting our platform, people, and processes. We work the Jobber way: be humble, be supportive, and give a shit.
Security Operations handles alert triage/response and security tooling that improves cloud and endpoint visibility. As we scale, we’re doubling down on cloud-native automation, integrations, and secure-by-default practices with Engineering and IT.
We partner closely with Product Development, IT, and GRC—and prioritize transparency, pragmatism, and continuous learning across every function.
The role:
You’ll build scalable systems, mature programs like DLP and SIEM, and reduce manual dependencies across our cloud environments. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring Jobber’s security operations are resilient, proactive, and tightly integrated with our evolving infrastructure.
You’ll report to the Manager, Security Operations, and collaborate closely with Product Development, IT, and GRC teams to embed security into every layer of our environment.
The Security Operations Manager will:
Lead the design, implementation, and integration of key security initiatives, including DLP, SIEM, and internal security tooling.
Automate alert triage, vulnerability tracking, and incident response workflows through scripts, APIs, and serverless functions.
Own and improve integrations across AWS and Azure/GCP, enabling scalable, low-noise monitoring and rapid response.
Triage and respond to cloud security alerts, driving investigations and coordinating with engineering teams for resolution.
Act as technical lead during incidents, providing expert guidance on cloud, infrastructure, and endpoint response.
Document and standardize playbooks, runbooks, and internal processes to make security practices repeatable and scalable.
Mentor and guide Security Operations team members, fostering technical growth and reinforcing Jobber’s values in day-to-day work.
To be successful, you should have:
A seasoned technical background spanning Linux administration, IT operations, or software development, now applied to infrastructure security and SecOps.
Deep AWS security expertise (GuardDuty, Security Hub), or strong multi-cloud experience across Azure and GCP.
Proven ability to build security automations and integrations using APIs, scripting, or serverless technologies (Python, Bash, Terraform).
Hands-on familiarity with SIEM, DLP, and cloud-native security tooling.
Experience managing or integrating MDM (e.g., Jamf, Kandji) and IDP (e.g., Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace) solutions to enforce secure-by-default practices.
A systems-thinking approach — able to build from scratch, automate repetitive work, and scale operational processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable insights.
A collaborative mindset grounded in Jobber’s values — humble, supportive, and relentless — with integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
A passion for innovation and continuous learning, especially in emerging areas like AI-driven security and cloud automation.
It would be nice (but not a deal-breaker) if you had:
Experience securing multi-cloud environments and applying governance models across AWS, GCP, and Azure.
Experience with modern endpoint, identity, and cloud security tools such as Kolide, Netskope, Okta, Jamf, CrowdStrike, and Cloudflare.
Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and CI/CD pipeline integration.
Experience scaling or maturing security operations in high-growth SaaS or startup environments.
Practical experience with AI-assisted tooling for detection, automation, or triage.
