This Position reports to:

ABB is a technology leader in electrification and automation, enabling a more sustainable and resource‑efficient future. Our Electrification Installation Products (ELIP) business offers solutions that connect, protect and distribute electrical power in residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

We are looking for a motivated Sales Specialist to join our ELIP team in BC supporting electrical distributors, contractors, and consultants across the region.

Reporting to the: District Sales Manager, Electrification Installation Products (ELIP)
Position Type: Full-time - Hybrid

Territory: Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island + occasional travel within BC

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a territory sales plan to grow ELIP product sales in the Greater Vancouver area and Vancouver Island market.

  • Manage and grow relationships with electrical distributors, contractors, engineers and key end users.

  • Identifying and driving new business opportunities by creating demand at end users (contractors, consultants, OEMs, developers, etc.) and supporting partners with quotations, project follow-up and value‑added solutions.

  • Promote ABB solutions through regular customer visits, joint calls with channel partners, lunch & learns, trade shows, and industry events.

  • Provide product presentations, basic technical support, and training to distributors, contractors, and consulting engineers.

  • Prepare and follow up on quotations, price proposals, and project bids in collaboration with internal teams.

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback, and share insights to support pricing, marketing and product management.

  • Use ABB’s CRM and reporting tools to manage your sales pipeline, forecast accurately, and document customer interactions, while coordinating with inside sales, customer service and product management to ensure customer satisfaction and profitable growth.

  • Work closely with marketing, inside sales, customer service and product management to ensure a strong customer experience.

  • Uphold ABB’s health, safety, environmental and ethical standards in all activities.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field; a combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

  • 5+ years of sales experience in the electrical industry (distribution, manufacturing, or contractor sales) preferred.

  • Knowledge of electrical installation products, codes, and standards in Canada is an asset.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing a territory or account base.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Comfortable working independently in the field and managing a diverse customer base.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with CRM tools is an asset.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $92,625 and $135,850 annually and is bonus eligible.
