We are seeking a talented individual to join our Growth team at Marsh Risk. This role will be based in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary or Edmonton. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Sales Executive, you will be responsible for growing a mid-sized book of business by focusing on both new logo acquisition and expanding opportunities within existing accounts. Success in this role requires a strong local network within the local business community, including established relationships with CFOs, Treasury, Finance, and Legal professionals.

We will count on you to:

  • Maintain and expand a mid-sized book of business containing larger or nuanced Property & Casualty accounts across various industries or specialties, contributing to sales efforts for complex, high-priority accounts owned by senior colleagues.

  • Develop and execute sales strategies for managed accounts by understanding client needs, market trends, and Marsh’s product and service offerings.

  • Conduct research and analysis on relevant markets and industries to identify potential relationship needs, target new buyer hubs, and expand the book of business.

  • Prepare comprehensive analyses consolidating project and market data to develop competitive proposals and cross-functional opportunities.

  • Create project plans, strategize timelines, and deliver products and solutions efficiently to meet client expectations.

  • Develop custom product solutions for new or existing accounts, ensuring pricing and policy compliance.

  • Address escalated issues promptly, maintaining positive relationships and delivering on timelines and outcomes.

  • Actively engage with client organizations and nurture professional networks.

  • Represent Marsh at industry events and conferences to build a strong professional presence and stay connected to market trends.

What you need to have:

  • Proven experience managing and growing a book of business in Property & Casualty insurance or related fields.

  • Demonstrated success in new logo acquisition and expanding existing client relationships.

  • Strong local network within the Greater Toronto Area business community, with established relationships among CFOs, Treasury, Finance, and Legal professionals.

  • Excellent strategic sales and account management skills.

  • Strong analytical abilities to conduct market research and develop competitive proposals.

  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • High emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, empathy, and the ability to read the room and adapt communication style to different audiences and situations.

  • Resourceful and proactive in navigating complex situations to find effective solutions and overcome obstacles.

  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand and interpret financial statements, budgets, and key business metrics.

  • Genuine curiosity and eagerness to understand clients’ business operations, industry challenges, and strategic priorities to better tailor solutions.

  • Ability to build trust and rapport quickly with diverse stakeholders and navigate complex interpersonal dynamics.

  • Skilled at managing ambiguity and responding thoughtfully to client and internal feedback.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver solutions efficiently.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
