About the Role

As a Federal SDR at Starburst you will:
Our Sales Development team is growing and we are looking to hire the first Federal Sales Development Representative in the Greater Washington DC region. This position is a first step to moving to the field as an Account Executive. We are searching for candidates who want to build a sales career that is focused on selling to US Federal, State, and Local governments. Specifically;
- Conduct outbound activities to identify prospective projects for the Sales team
- Meticulously track and nurture your outbound activity in Salesforce
- Nimbly interact with potential agencies through various points of contact including possibly attending in person meetings, trainings, and trade shows
- Expand your knowledge of prospecting and discovery to help jumpstart your career in sales
- Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual lead generation quotas
- Apply your knowledge of the federal contract and procurement process
- Follow up on Inbound activity with target agencies, entities, and partners
Some of the things we look for:
- 1+ years of SDR/ SaaS sales experience as a top performer
- Enjoy a challenge and getting out of your comfort zone to aid in your personal and professional development/growth
- Adeptly prioritize and reprioritize based on the evolving demands of the business
- Thrive in the unknown – and have a track record to prove it
- Examples of where you have displayed your passion and perseverance to accomplish a long term goal
- Business Acumen - you have built this through academic or professional experiences

Ideal Candidate:
- Active involvement in special interest groups (business development), with a federal and defense focus, to build and develop relationships
- Use of comprehensive knowledge of the U.S. Government procurement processes, Federal compliance, security clearance, and strong military acumen to develop Federal customers
- Commitment to staying current on the latest industry technology and Federal trends and market drivers
Where could this role be based?
- Remote in DC Area preferred or hybrid in Boston

The salary range provided for this role reflects the minimum and maximum targets for candidates across all U.S. locations and could be inclusive of variable compensation, such as commission or bonus. All employees receive equity packages (ISOs) and have access to a comprehensive benefits offering. Actual compensation packages are determined based on relevant skills, experience, education and training, and specific work location. $50,000—$70,000 USD
