About the Role

Our Professional Information Business is looking for someone to source & build new business opportunities for the Americas Strategic sales team.

The Sales Development Representative is responsible for identifying, contacting, and qualifying new leads to set-up introductory meetings with members of the Americas Strategic sales team. You will report to the Manager, Sales Development.

You Will:

  • Call current and prospective clients to set-up meetings for our Professional Information Business suite of products.
  • Work with Sales Directors, Account Executives and Sales Specialists to create sales campaigns for specific segments. Identify target groups, build prospect lists and produce qualified sales leads through targeted campaigns.
  • Identify and qualify new leads to achieve and exceed personal and team revenue goals.
  • Develop necessary internal relationships with all parts of the Professional Information Business team (Data Strategy, Product, Marketing & Sales).
  • Maintain records of sales calls, contacts and sales campaigns in the global CRM to provide management information.

You Have:

  • 1+ year experience required
  • Comfort and confidence with cold calling.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Motivated by results.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Experience in selling information and compliance tools to senior business decision makers a plus.
  • Knowledge or Willingness to participate in professional development activities to stay current on industry knowledge of compliance personnel.
  • Ability to utilize effective influencing strategies to gain agreement or commitment to proposed solutions in order to help advance the sales process to the next level.
  • Ability to drive new business opportunities within new prospects, as well as ability to upsell to existing Dow Jones customers within a team selling environment.
  • Ability to identify key customer issues to determine whether it is appropriate to set-up a meeting with a specialist.
  • Ability to maintain effectiveness when working closely with people of diverse cultures or background.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple activities and re-prioritize when necessary to ensure revenue goals are achieved.
