Job Title: Research Assistant (Regular, full-time)

Job Location: Vancouver, BC, 

                         Frontage Vancouver, Canada


Salary - CAD 50,000 - 55,000

 

Frontage is a global Contract Research Company (CRO) with the head office located in Exton, Pennsylvania, USA.  Frontage has 25 sites across USA, Canada, China and Italy.  The Canadian operations include two sites – one located in Vancouver and the other based in Toronto.  Frontage Vancouver (formerly BRI) has been in operation for more than 25 years with service offerings in regulated and non-regulated bioanalytical (various platforms including LC/MS/MS and MSD for small and large molecules analyses), In-vitro / In-vivo Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics and pharmacology. The Frontage Vancouver operation is projected to grow significantly in the next few years, especially to meet the demands of biotech and pharmaceutical companies in the Pacific Northwest region.  Our facility is accredited by AAALAC and conforms to GLP standards.

 

This position requires teamwork and excellent oral and written communication skills.  A solid academic record is preferred.  

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Requires a B.Sc in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, or a science related discipline.
  • Working experience in laboratory setting with co-op experience.
  • Has basic knowledge and hands-on experience of HPLC, LC-MS/MS, and plate-based assays (including ELISA and MSD).
  • Strong planning and organization abilities. 
  • Competent and self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
  • Good logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not limited to, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice.
  • Ability to work under specific time constraints.
    • Competent and self-motivated individual able to work independently.
    • Strong with computer skills, like MS Word, MS Excel.
    • Experience with large molecules is an asset.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform bioanalytical assays utilizing HPLC, LC-MS/MS, MSD, and ELISA.
  • Process data.
  • Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment when required.
  • Ensure the SOPs and safety protocols are strictly followed.
  • Prepare study reports.
  • Ensure that all study related documentation is completed and archived as required.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs.
