What you'll do
Reporting to the Associate Vice President - Sales, the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) role is responsible for leading and guiding the sales team within their geographic region to drive revenue growth for Mark’s Commercial. This primarily involves developing and executing sales plans and targets, while fostering strategic partnerships with innovative organizations committed to enhancing the safety and well-being of Canadian workers.
The RSM partners with Mark’s Commercial business units to achieve sales targets through proactive client engagement and optimization of key accounts. This role provides support to the sales team by offering coaching, mentoring and upskilling to address both current and evolving client needs, thereby facilitating the achievement of sales targets and profitability for Mark’s Commercial. By building strong client relationships, the RSM ensures a superior, professional, and positive client experience.
Lead, mentor and motivate the regional sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Leverage analytics to build regional territory plan, identify customer needs and areas for sales growth.
Establish, monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and initiate informed actions if required.
Partner with BDMs, the sales team and other departments to ensure cohesive strategies and optimal results.
Acquire and work directly with strategic partners to expand business opportunities and market reach.
Prepare regular reports and updates for leadership, highlighting performance insights and recommendations.
Implement CRM systems and other sales technologies to streamline processes and enhance customer engagement.
Support business disciplines and processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Partner with other business unit leaders to resolve any issues in terms of internal workflows, customer issues, productivity gains, etc.
Hold monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings with the sales team to review their progress relative to their accountabilities and competencies; initiate actions if required.
Uphold regional budgets, manage and monitor expenses and conduct profitability analysis.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
Adapt the team's strategies and skills in response to changing business priorities, ensuring they remain competitive and effective.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and development by identifying skill gaps and providing training opportunities in alignment with evolving business needs.
What you bring
Minimum 5 years’ related experience managing sales teams
Bachelor degree with a Major in Business or equivalent with an emphasis in Marketing/Sales Management preferred.
Proven track record in sales.
Direct supervision and coaching experience in a sales environment.
Proficiency in leveraging data analytics to drive strategic decision-making.
Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
Strategic analysis and decision-making skills.
Exceptional negotiation skills.
Ability to build and deliver sales presentations.
Ability to foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the sales team.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Travel (50%) required within region; RSMs attend quarterly and year-end regional sales meetings and national sales meetings across Canada.
