Business Unit Overview

This position is part of Novanta’s Photonics business unit group. Novanta develops cutting-edge components and sub-systems for laser-based diagnostic, analytical, micromachining and fine material processing applications. Powerful lasers, coupled with advanced beam steering and intelligent sub-systems incorporating software and controls, deliver extreme precision and performance, tailored to our customers’ demanding applications.

Position Details

Summary

This job is responsible for managing the precision medicine and manufacturing (PMM) for Novanta in the designated regions of North America. Key responsibility is to identify new business, close opportunities and service existing accounts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Is the face of Novanta to the customer and must drive high level of customer service- first line of defence”

  • Develop, execute and manage sales to OEM customers in designated region to achieve sales goals.

  • Hunt for new OEM customers and markets.

  • Develop and manage sales funnel using CRM and market data

  • Provide accurate Monthly rolling 12-month sales and bookings forecasts for region by Customer and Product, including new opportunity tracking.

  • Arranges Pre- and Post-Sales technical and integration/application support to customer.

  • Applies technical and sales knowledge and policies in direct support to customers

  • Sets short and long-term sales strategies to expand OEM customer base, market share and business.

  • Regularly visit key customers and new prospects face to face to drive strong relationship, and develop deep understanding of customer needs and create win opportunities

  • Lead escalation management where needed

  • Actively engage in Trade Show or other channels to promote products to customers and prospects

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies

  • Requires an engineering or equivalent bachelors degree alongside relevant sales experience.

  • OEM component/sub-systems sales experience.

  • Experience with Laser and optics components and systems is advantageous but not essential.

  • Knowledge of commonly used customer sales concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Must have strong interpersonal and customer relations capability.

  • Self-driven to meet targets with the ability to multi-task and be effective in a busy environment

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Positive attitude, displays a high moral and business code of conduct

  • Respectful of customers, peers, subordinates and supervisors.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The base pay for this position ranges from $110,000 - $150,000.

  • Dependent on the position offered, annual bonuses and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of the compensation package.

Travel Requirements
