Job Responsibilities:
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own and lead product 8D post-launch. Engage Advanced Team, as required, during transition phase.
- Ensure process controls meet reliability and capability levels.
- Validate and approve Control Plans and their linkage to the JES and FMEA.
- Own and lead all Plant Quality containment activities (internal and/or external).
- Ensure adherence to Policies/Procedures/JES (IATF, Job Element Sheets).
- Effective and timely communication with Customers on issues regarding product quality.
- Conduct process audits to ensure accuracy of paperwork and inspection aids are present, meeting the line process flow. (i.e. changes made from Engineering Changes, Corrective Actions or Process Changes).
- Develop and obtain Customer approved boundary samples and maintain the boundary samples throughout the production cycle.
- Support training, when necessary. (i.e. boundary samples, quality alerts, SPC etc.).
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities for production.
- Responsible for scrap reduction initiatives, as it relates to reduction in Risk Priority Numbers (RPN), support and drive, as required.
- Participate in pre-launch programs with regards to design and specifications required.
- Timely closure of Engineering Change action items.
- Development and procurement of dimensional fixture and gauges, approving design and tracking readiness of gauges, post-launch.
- Assess manufacturing issues to ensure quality systems/error proofing is not compromised (process deviation).
- Support the shop floor with training and documentation needs for dimensionals.
- Lead effective closure to Customer issued RMA's through to internal disposition of material (NCM).
- Review and assess captured process/dimensional SPC data for trends, lead and drive the corrective action implementation.
- Participate and lead root cause analysis, as required, in Warranty returns, follow-up communications with Customers and provide analysis of data, as required.
- Drive product improvement based on Customer returns.
- Drive Quarterly goals to meet objectives. Create & maintain performance KPI's.
- To analyze, troubleshoot and follow-up on internal & Customer quality issues.
- Own and lead Business Unit priorities, as identified.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technologist/Technician Diploma in Engineering required.
- 1 - 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Certification as an CQE would be an asset.
- Possess/Develop a strong understanding of Core Tools (APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA & PPAP), Control Plans/Process Flows, Root Cause Analysis/Practical Problem Solving.
- Proficient in and learning of Business Operating Systems (i.e. IATF16949, IMDS, QSI, Supply Web, Customer Requirements, Trans4M etc.).
- Knowledge of various processes (i.e. moulding, coating, assembly etc.).
- Knowledge of basic concepts of design output, metrology and instrumentation.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft office; including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab etc.
- Ability to efficiently work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Proficient in dimensional systems and analysis.
- Effective communication with various departments within Autosystems and with customer plant liaisons.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
- Self-Motivated, ability to initiate and follow tasks through to completion.
- Aptitude for working with numbers with a high degree of accuracy.
- Able to travel and work flexible hours to accommodate international supplier.
