The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working directly with and leading a team of project managers in their day to day activities. In addition, a portion of time will be spent actively managing client implementations. As an active project manager, you will work together with our SpryPoint customers and partners to deliver quality implementations. We are looking for someone who seeks to constantly expand their knowledge of SpryPoint products and the utilities industry. Reporting to the PMO, you will be an active project manager and people leader. You will be managing communications, capacity planning and risk, forecasting effort and revenue while maintaining a positive and engaging presence with each of your project teams. As a Project Management Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the work of a team of employees, and ensuring that deliverables are met and that projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Applying SpryPoint's hybrid implementation methodology to our enterprise projects
  • Developing realistic, manageable project schedules, and ensuring they are up-to-date and accurate with appropriate task assignments and effort
  • Act as liaison between upper management and project staff to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently, on time and within budget
  • Maintain detailed and accurate project documents per the SOW and our implementation methodology
  • Proven financial acumen experience gained by managing projects
  • Experience negotiating resources and deliverables within a matrix organization
  • Experience negotiating with customers on modification and compromises to project scope or deliverables based on project schedule, contingencies and predefined acceptance criteria
  • Using keen attention to detail to support the delivery of professional project documentation to our clients
  • Develop engaging relationships with our clients and our internal team at all departments and strata of the organization
  • Proven ability to understand and explain the impact of project discussions to both customers and internal stakeholders
  • Assist with gap analysis and discovery workshops
  • Review and understand all contractual and SOW requirements are being met and delivered successfully
  • Experience in hiring and leading team members, tracking performance

  • Travel and working at client sites across North America will be required to be successful in this position. The successful candidate must be able to travel outside of Canada with no known legal or immigration-related impediments.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Post Secondary degree or diploma, preferably in project management or business administration
  • Minimum five years experience related experience in enterprise project management and team management
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SaaS implementations
  • Currently holds and/or is pursuing a PMP, CAPM or comparable project management designation would be considered an asset
  • Experience or familiarity with the utilities industry would be an asset
  • General familiarity or experience working with Management Information Systems such as Customer Information Systems (CIS), Work Orders & Asset Management (WAMS), Mobile Workforce Management (MWM), and/or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are a bonus.

Technical Skills:

  • Fluent with productivity tools such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office and others
  • Experience with web-based Portfolio/Project Product Management tools
  • Both traditional and agile project management methodology training
  • Experience with SaaS-based product implementations would be an asset

  • Proven interpersonal skills, the ability to build and strengthen relationships (both internal and external), and the ability to foster cooperation with numerous stakeholders including senior management, clients and business partners
  • Ability to articulate complex information clearly and succinctly while also inspiring and motivating the team
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to form engaging relationships, fostering collaboration within the team and across other departments and stakeholders
  • Continuous improvement mindset and ongoing desire to learn and proactively bring forward new ideas
  • Ability to identify and mitigate project risks, estimate resource needs, and logically create project schedules
  • Ability to conduct project reviews with other Project Managers
  • Experience motivating and influencing individuals and teams

  • Resourcefulness and an ability to develop a deep understanding of utility industries - electric, water, wastewater, gas, telecommunications, sanitation, and others
