Your Opportunity
We are seeking to hire a Project Controls Manager to support our growing projects. The individual will be responsible for providing project controls expertise to improve Stantec’s delivery of projects. In this role, you will have oversight of projects and will support delivery by developing project controls solutions to identified challenges. The position will be responsible for project controls activities and will support efforts by coordinating with program management staff. The individual will analyze Client project controls needs and help delivery teams develop the tools, processes, and people to manage a portfolio of projects with visibility into schedule and budget KPIs and trends.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing project controls standards and procedures, monitor compliance and initiate corrective measures as necessary.
- Ensuring that all planning and scheduling activities such as schedule development, project reporting and problem analysis activities comply with Company and client requirements.
- Communicating areas of concern to leadership.
- Provide QA/QC of cost and scheduling processes, reports, and utilization.
- Consistently and successfully deploying solutions for key accounts as assigned.
- Leading large, complex teams through challenging project assignments and complex client environments.
- Represent project controls tasks in meetings with client, subcontractors, and others, as required.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and customer‑relationship skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.

- Consistently adhere to and enforce internal Company processes and policies such as business and contracting rules.
- Must demonstrate organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong willingness to be a part of a large global engineering company, and to work with teams in other offices around the world.
- Direct experience in developing and updating cost and resource loaded schedules using, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and other database programs, web-based tools and spreadsheets.
- Demonstrated experience in development of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), scheduling and schedule analysis, cost estimating and cost control, budget development, reporting and record/document control.
- Experience in the municipal sector in areas of public works, utilities, transportation, and industry and on multi-sector programs is preferred.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 plus years of experience in project management or project controls within infrastructure, buildings, utilities, or construction-related projects.
- Experience working in an engineering consulting environment is considered an asset.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑SP, or CCP are highly desirable.
