At Stellar, we aim to build a studio where people actually want to work. We face production’s inevitable ups and downs as a supportive, truly connected team, prioritizing open communication over anyone working in isolation. We value honesty, creativity, and looking out for one another.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a highly organized and eager-to-learn Production Assistant to join us on a streaming series for Marvel Animation.

This is an excellent starting point for someone looking to build a career in animation production. As a Production Assistant, you'll work alongside our Production Coordinators and Managers, supporting the day-to-day operations of multiple departments while gaining firsthand exposure to how an animation production runs from start to finish.

This role is designed to give you broad exposure across the production team. You'll learn how different departments operate, how they collaborate, and how production workflows connect across the pipeline. Along the way, you'll take on administrative and organizational responsibilities that help keep the team running smoothly while developing the foundational skills needed for a career in production.
If you enjoy staying organized, have an eye for detail, and are naturally curious, we would love to hear from you
This role requires someone who is:
- Calm under pressure
- Highly communicative
- Organized + detail oriented
- Curious and eager to learn
- Proactive about solving problems
- Comfortable adapting to shifting priorities

Success in this role comes from balancing strong organizational skills with curiosity, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.

Meeting and Review Mastery

  • Attend dailies and department reviews to take incredibly accurate, clear, and actionable notes.
  • Promptly publish and distribute meeting notes to the team, ensuring everyone knows their next steps.

Production Support

  • Assist the Production Coordinators with maintaining accurate data in Flow Production Tracking (formerly ShotGrid), including shot statuses, assignments, and production information.
  • Help organize, name, and file digital materials, reference artwork, and client approvals so they are easily accessible to the artists.
  • Support a variety of production tasks across multiple departments, gaining exposure to different stages of the CG animation pipeline.

Team Communication and Administration

  • Act as a friendly, approachable point of contact for the artists, helping to answer basic scheduling questions or directing them to the right person.
  • Assist with calendar management, scheduling meetings, and prepping review playlists.
  • Proactively look for small ways to make the Production Coordinators and Managers days run a little smoother.
  • Shadow experienced Production Coordinators, learning how different departments are managed and how decisions are communicated throughout the project.

The Requirements

Must Haves:

  • Experience: 0 to 1 years of experience. This is an entry-level role, perfect for recent grads or those with administrative experience looking to pivot into animation.
  • Super Powered Organization: You have exceptional attention to detail, love a good spreadsheet, and take pride in keeping things tidy.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You aren't afraid to ask clarifying questions if you don't understand a note.
  • Software: Highly proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and MS Office.
  • Eligibility: Legally eligible to work in Canada.

Nice to Haves:

  • A basic understanding of the 2D or 3D animation pipeline.
  • Any prior exposure to Flow Production Tracking (formerly ShotGrid) or RV is a massive bonus, but we will happily teach you.

Why Join Stellar?

  • Flexible Environment: We offer a flexible hybrid schedule that will vary with project and team requirements.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Extended health benefits.
  • Growth: Professional development support to help you stay ahead of tech and creative trends.
  • Culture: A collaborative, ego-free environment where technical expertise fuels creative magic.
Competitive salary range: $50,000 - $60,000, based on your experience and skills.
