Product Owner

THE OPPORTUNITY:
This remote opportunity is open to candidates residing anywhere in the United States or Canada.
The Product Owner is responsible for the continuous delivery of value to the market, customers, and users for their products. They engage their stakeholders in making data-driven decisions regarding which features and functionality to build and the order in which to build them. They are responsible for acting as the product owner on their scrum teams, effectively collaborating with the development team to ensure they rapidly build what customers and the market need.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Gathers and documents project requirements, including workflow diagrams when appropriate
• Creates and refines backlog items
• Manages backlog priority, giving scrum teams focus
• Leads scrum activities
• Gathers stakeholder feedback
• Collaborates with members from other teams to manage dependencies and remove blockers
• Understands and troubleshoots issues affecting a product/feature/service
• Proactively addresses potential issues before they become larger issues
• Produces release notes

Minimum Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or a combination of Product Ownership and Product Management experience
• Intermediate knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience working with Enterprise SaaS solutions
• Knowledge and experience working in a Scrum Framework
• Strong written/verbal communication
• Proficient in technical jargon

VelocityEHS is committed to competitive, fair, and equitable compensation practices by offering market-based salary ranges. The expected salary range for this position is between $101,500 and $135,000 USD (United States) or $91,300 and $122,000 CAD (Canada). We aim to hire between the minimum and midpoint of the salary range and offers at the maximum of the range are uncommon. The final offered salary will be based on candidate's proficiency in skill set, prior relevant experience, internal equity, market considerations, and other factors. This role is also eligible for our comprehensive benefits package.
