Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As the Product Owner, People Systems, you will lead the next stage of our people technology journey, with Workday at the core. Over the next two years, you will guide the remediation and re-implementation of Workday, ensuring it delivers scalable, intuitive, and brand-aligned solutions that support our global growth and people strategy.
This role blends deep Workday expertise with product ownership, business acumen, and change leadership. You will collaborate with the People Systems, Analytics, and Operations leadership team to shape and deliver the people systems roadmap—defining requirements, triaging and prioritizing enhancements, and shaping solution design. Acting as the bridge between P&C, Technology, business teams, Amer Sports HR and IT, and external partners, you will turn strategy into functional solutions, guide design choices, and drive adoption.
Looking ahead, you will ensure our people systems continue to scale with the business—supporting our guest-obsessed culture and driving value in a fast-growing DTC environment.

This role is based in our North Vancouver office with hybrid flexibility. Candidates are expected to regularly support in-office collaboration.

Meet Your Future Team:
The Global People Operations team provides Total Rewards, People Systems, People Analytics, People Operations, and Policy and Compliance services. We play a critical role in scaling the People and Culture function and enabling the business. We partner across all areas to evolve people practices and deliver solutions that support our growing, global organization.

If you were a Product Owner, People Systems, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Product Ownership & Roadmap
  • Collaborate with P&C, Technology, business leaders, Amer Sports HR and IT, and external partners to shape the Workday roadmap.
  • Capture business requirements and translate them into functional specifications that drive scalability and usability.
  • Manage the intake, triage, sequencing, and prioritization of system enhancements to maximize business value.
  • Partner with Amer Sports HR and IT to ensure alignment with Group standards while reflecting Arc’teryx brand priorities.
  • System Design & Delivery
  • Guide Workday remediation and re-implementation from requirements through design, testing, and deployment.
  • Shape solution design for Arc’teryx across key modules (e.g., Core HCM, Talent, Compensation).
  • Support integrations with related systems in partnership with P&C, Finance, Retail Ops, and Technology.
  • Recommend enhancements that balance user experience, scalability, governance, and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Business Partnership
  • Build strong partnerships across P&C, Technology, Finance, Retail Operations, and Amer Sports HR & IT.
  • Engage directly with business leaders to surface needs, align priorities, and ensure system outcomes deliver measurable value.
  • Collaborate with external implementation partners to ensure design decisions meet business needs.
  • Act as the bridge between business strategy and system execution, sequencing delivery to unlock business value.
  • Change Management & Adoption
  • Champion adoption of Workday by employees, managers, and P&C teams.
  • Simplify processes, drive automation, and enable self-service experiences that reduce manual work and enhance scalability.
  • Define and track adoption, efficiency, user experience, and data quality metrics.
  • Partner on communications and training to embed sustained change.
  • Governance & Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to governance processes for roadmap management and release planning.
  • Ensure system design supports data integrity, compliance, and security.
  • Embed data governance practices in partnership with Technology and P&C.
  • Anticipate future needs and proactively recommend solutions that enable scale.

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Delivering a successful Workday remediation and re-implementation, building a clean, scalable architecture and intuitive experience that empowers our frontline and supports all teams.
  • Advancing the people systems roadmap to balance near-term delivery with long-term scalability, aligned to our P&C strategic plan and Arc’teryx priorities within Group standards.
  • Strengthening people data foundations to enable scale, analytics, compliance, and better decision-making across the business.

Are you our next Product Owner, People Systems?

  • You have a post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Human Resources, Business, Information Systems) or equivalent experience.
  • You have 5–7+ years in HR Technology with deep Workday HCM expertise, ideally including design, deployment, optimization, and configuration.
  • You understand the retail and digital landscape, and how people systems enable scale in a fast-growing DTC environment.
  • You have proven experience leading large-scale Workday remediation, re-implementation, or transformation programs.
  • You bring a strong understanding of HR processes, compliance requirements, and data governance, with familiarity in related systems such as payroll, benefits, or workforce management.
  • You can capture business requirements, translate them into functional specifications, and sequence delivery through a clear roadmap.
  • You have experience driving change management and adoption, simplifying processes, and enabling intuitive, user-focused solutions.
  • You are an innovative problem solver who anticipates needs, stays ahead of trends, and drives continuous improvement.
  • You are a skilled communicator who builds trust, engages stakeholders at all levels, and aligns priorities across a global matrix.
  • You are collaborative, curious, and adaptable — energized by solving complex challenges with others.
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it.
