We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Procurement Manager to join our Merchandising team in Langley, BC.  

Reporting to the Director, Private Brands, you will be responsible for managing the sourcing, continuity, and cost of goods procured for Pattison Food Group including supporting other legal entities as required. In this role, you will establish strong, collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to strategically develop, implement, and optimize Private Brands supplier management processes, tools, and policies to achieve performance objectives.
You will be responsible for:

  • Partnering with the Business Development Managers to understand requirements and collaborate on joint business planning.
  • Developing supplier strategies to deliver on banner requirements and leading vendor review meetings to determine leverage opportunities.
  • Developing and issuing RFI’s (Request for Information), RFP’s (Request for Proposal), and invitations to bid as required by the business.
  • Supporting and negotiating with vendors; including fixed and variable O&A.
  • Identifying procurement opportunities across banners and consolidating data for priority areas.
  • Working closely with Inventory Management, Transportation, and other key business areas to ensure consultation at relevant decision points.
  • Recommending preferred supply sources based on banner listings and data and ensuring company benefits from long term and/or commodities purchases.
  • Negotiating with external and internal suppliers and managing suppliers’ funding and costing agreements such as managing contracts, vendor funding and costing agreements.
  • Communicating key metrics with Business Development Managers.
  • Responding to vendor issues with a focus on satisfying and resolving the issues/concerns.
  • Visiting competitors, trade shows and industry events.

You have:

  • 5+ years of merchandising experience with in-depth working knowledge of food industry operations and processes.
  • A post-secondary education in business administration or relevant discipline is considered an asset.
  • Experience in interpreting financial information (e.g., budgets, P/L statements) and data and analytics with a strong business acumen.
  • Project management experience with the ability to organize short and long-term plans.
  • Experience negotiating vendors contracts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle, with the ability to travel on an as-needed basis.

Compensation Details:

$76,800.00 - $102,400.00

The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience, and other factors.
