The Principal Engineer II is responsible for testing and certifying microservices and platforms, automating deployments, enhancing CI/CD pipelines, and managing cloud infrastructure, while ensuring optimization and compliance throughout the DevOps lifecycle.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for testing and certifying the spectrum digital platforms micro services, platforms, and IP applications in the integration environment. Responsible for identifying and implementing processes and tools that automate the deployments and efficiently test these services/platforms, including but not limited to manual and automation tools. Test and certify the Spectrum digital platforms micro services in the integration environment. Create manual and automation test suites to deploy the services and find any issues with software before the product is launched. Responsible for managing, creating, and providing engineering technical support and guidance to cloud infrastructure, micro service- related web services in AWS such as EC2, EBS, ELB, VPC, Route53, SNS, SQS, RDS, S3, and Auto Scaling. Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate Gitlab and Jenkins deployments. Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable and efficient infrastructure with understanding of network architecture and designs using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, AWS and Terraform. Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, monitoring and other operations processes. Ensure continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines are optimized and automated. Work closely with Development and QA and Operations team to ensure seamless integration and delivery of software. Ensure databases are optimized for performance, availability, scalability and compliance with data protection regulations and organizational policies. Implement and maintain best practices within the DevOps lifecycle and conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Optimize Cloud and Infrastructure cost by implementing cost-effective solutions and monitoring usage. Establish and maintain documentation for systems, processes, standards and promote best practices in DevOps across the organization. Perform root cause analysis for production errors and implement preventative measures. Lead incident response efforts and post-mortem analyses to ensure swift resolution and learning from incidents.
EDUCATION / REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (any), or a related field. 10 Years of experience performing micro services integration and software testing. 6 years of experience performing CI/CD integration to automate Gitlab and Jenkins deployments. 5 years of experience in the following: performing Network design and architecture in AWS using tools including Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform; and utilizing Automation tools and Frameworks to streamline deployment, monitoring and other operations processes. 4 Years of experience in the following: utilizing programming and databases to design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable and efficient infrastructure; and managing, creating, and providing engineering technical support and guidance to cloud infrastructure, micro service- related web services in AWS including EC2, EBS, ELB, VPC, Route53, SNS, SQS, RDS, S3, and Auto Scaling.

Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $164,112 per year.

$164,112.00 and $220,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
