We are seeking a skilled Platform Architect Senior, Lead or Expert level to lead the design and implementation of our cloud platform, which will serve as the backbone for application development and advanced data science solutions. In this pivotal role, you will build tools and processes that facilitate self-service with least-privilege solutions aimed at improving security, developer productivity, and compliance. The position will be based out of our Richmond, British Columbia office; however, a hybrid work style is offered, allowing the candidate to work both virtually and in the office.
As a Platform Architect, you will be responsible for shaping the architectural vision and strategy of our platform, ensuring it aligns with Boeing Digital Tech Ops' goals and industry best practices. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, application development, design, and operations, to gather requirements and drive the adoption of cloud technologies.
This role requires a self-driven and innovative individual who is passionate about leveraging cloud-native best practices to create scalable, resilient, and secure solutions. Position Responsibilities:

Build tools and processes for self-service with least-privilege solutions.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at the Richmond, British Columbia location. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

5+ years of experience in cloud security architecture and design, with a focus on major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

3+ years of experience developing and operating microservice, containerized, or serverless applications.

Strong command of orchestration technologies, continuous integration / continuous deployment and GitOps managed environments.
-
Proven experience with Cloud Native development, particularly using AWS (experience with Azure and GCP is a plus).

Strong knowledge and experience in cloud security, architecture, and implementation strategies.

Must be legally able to work in Canada.

Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods.

Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent relevant experience).

8+ years of experience in cloud security architecture and design, with a focus on major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

5+ years of experience developing and operating microservice, containerized, or serverless applications.

Proficiency in Git-based version control systems.
-
Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and GitOps practices.
-
Experience in data structuring and serialization using JSON and YAML.
-
Understanding of container design patterns and principles, including experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
-
Understanding of container design patterns and principles, with experience in Docker and Kubernetes, as well as knowledge of container orchestration tools such as ECS and EKS.

Programming skills for automation in languages such as Python, Groovy, or Go.

Experience with Policy-as-Code solutions (e.g., Cloud Custodian, Open Policy Agent).

Familiarity with cloud provider CLIs, CDKs, and SDKs.

Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful web services.

Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, auto-provisioning, and configuration management tools, including Ansible and Terraform.

Systems development and administration experience, with knowledge of Linux and Windows scripting.

Understanding of Agile engineering and delivery methodologies.

Contributions to open-source projects are highly valued.

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
Starting salary will be based on year of post-secondary education completed, qualifications and experience.
Salary pay range Level 4 - $92,000.00 - $164,000.00 CAD
Salary pay range Level 5 - $110,000.00 - $195,000.00 CAD
Salary pay range Level 6 - $131,000.00 - $234,000.00 CAD
