You'll work closely with employees, managers, payroll, and leadership teams across the organization, helping to create a positive and consistent employee experience from onboarding through offboarding.
What You'll Do
HR & Employee Administration Support
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and digital personnel files
- Prepare employment-related documentation including offer letters, employment agreements, onboarding packages, and employee status change letters
- Track employee certifications, licenses, training records, and compliance documentation
- Maintain and update HR templates, policies, forms, and document libraries
- Support updates to HR templates, policies, forms, and document libraries as part of department initiatives
- Support accurate employee information across HR, payroll, and internal systems
- Coordinate onboarding activities and documentation for new hires across the organization
- Maintain onboarding checklists and follow up on outstanding requirement
- Support recruitment activities including job postings, resume screening, interview scheduling, and candidate communications
- Support promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and other employment status changes through accurate documentation and system updates
- Coordinate offboarding documentation, exit processes, and employee file closure
- Support semi-monthly payroll processing through accurate employee data, status changes, audits, and documentation preparation
- Respond to routine employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, vacation, leaves, and HR programs, escalating as appropriate
- Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, terminations, and leave administration
- Partner closely with Payroll to help ensure employee changes are accurate, complete, and submitted on time
- Serve as a first point of contact for routine HR questions
- Support managers with onboarding, policy interpretation, documentation, and administrative processes
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and internal communications
- Coordinate training registrations, reminders, and tracking
- Provide administrative support for Tribe's Occupational Health & Safety Program
- Assist with maintaining WorkSafeBC documentation and related administrative requirements
- Coordinate Joint Health & Safety Committee meeting materials, minutes, and records
- Support documentation for workplace inspections, incident reporting, investigations, and corrective action tracking
- Track safety training and certification requirements
- Support controlled versions of HR documents and templates in SharePoint
- Assist with continuous improvement of HR processes, systems, and workflows as capacity allows
- Support HR projects and department initiatives as required
- Help ensure consistency and accuracy across all People & Culture programs and practices
- Diploma, degree, or formal education in Human Resources or a related field
- 2-3 years of experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, or similar role
- Experience supporting onboarding, employee administration, payroll, or benefits programs
- Strong understanding of confidentiality and employee record management
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and willingness to learn
- Competitive salary of $55,000-$65,000 based on experience
