People & Culture (HR) Advisor
Location: Abbotsford, BC (In-Office)
Reports To: CEO (with Fractional Director, People & Culture support)
About Clearbridge
Clearbridge is a high-growth, entrepreneurial company where clarity, execution, and culture aren't just buzzwords - they're how we operate. We're building something meaningful, and we know that exceptional companies are built by exceptional people. That's where you come in.
We're looking for someone who doesn't wait to be told what to do. Someone who sees a broken process and fixes it. Someone who believes that great HR isn't about compliance checkboxes - it's about making sure the right people are in the right seats, thriving, and driving the business forward.
The Role
This is not a typical HR job. You won't be part of a big HR team with specialized roles. You won't have a handbook for every scenario. You will be the day-to-day People & Culture contact at Clearbridge - the one who makes sure programs run smoothly and consistently.
As our People & Culture Advisor, you'll execute existing people programs across the employee lifecycle: delivering onboarding that sets people up to win, running performance review cycles on schedule, coordinating culture initiatives, and providing reliable day-to-day support to employees and managers.
This role is about execution excellence, not designing new frameworks from scratch. You'll follow established programs, spot opportunities to make small improvements, and escalate bigger ideas to the Fractional Director. If you're looking for a role with clear structure, consistent responsibilities, and the satisfaction of making programs work well, this is it.
Who Thrives Here
You're the kind of person who:
- Gets things done reliably. You follow through on commitments and keep programs running smoothly.
- Values clarity and consistency. You like having clear processes and making sure they're followed well.
- Thinks practically. You focus on making today's work better, not reinventing the wheel.
- Communicates effectively. You're comfortable working with managers and employees at all levels.
- Spots opportunities. You notice when something could work better and bring ideas to leadership.
- Wants to grow your HR skills. You're building your foundation in People & Culture and want hands-on experience across the employee lifecycle.
If you're currently in an HR coordinator role and want more scope, or you're early in your HR career and want consistent, meaningful work in a smaller company, this is your role.
What You'll Own
People Programs That Actually Work
- Run existing People & Culture programs including onboarding, performance reviews, employee development, engagement activities, and offboarding
- Be the first point of contact for employee questions - answering policy and process questions, escalating complex or sensitive issues
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR systems, and documentation
- Flag opportunities to improve programs and work with the Fractional Director to implement changes
- Partner with the Fractional Director for guidance, direction, and support on priorities
Hiring Support & Coordination
- Coordinate recruiting logistics: post jobs, screen resumes, schedule interviews, communicate with candidates
- Work with hiring managers to understand role requirements
- Support values-based hiring by flagging candidates who align with company culture
- Prepare interview materials and ensure managers have what they need for effective interviews
- Ensure every candidate has a professional and positive experience throughout the process
Culture & Office Experience
- Coordinate company events, team activities, and culture initiatives
- Help maintain an office environment that feels professional, welcoming, and organized
- Support the connection between what leadership communicates and what employees experience day-to-day
Light Office Administration
- Coordinate office supplies, shared spaces, and internal logistics as needed
- Support scheduling, internal communications, and cross-functional coordination
What You Bring
Required:
- 2 to 4 years of HR, People Ops, or People & Culture experience - ideally in a small or growing company where you supported multiple HR functions
- Experience executing HR programs consistently - you've run onboarding, coordinated performance reviews, or managed employee processes
- Strong organizational and communication skills - you're detail-oriented, follow through reliably, and communicate clearly with all levels
- Comfortable working independently with guidance - you can manage your day-to-day work without constant oversight while knowing when to ask for direction
- Interest in developing your HR career - you're building your People & Culture skills and want broad hands-on experience
Bonus Points For:
- Experience being the primary HR contact in a small company or startup
- Familiarity with HRIS systems or applicant tracking tools
- Background in coordinating employee events or culture programs
