This is a hybrid opportunity based 2 days a week out of Dentalcorp's Toronto Support Centre and 3 days a week work from home. You will be responsible for supporting the Senior Manager, Payroll in ensuring the accurate and successful operation of the Workday Payroll function, including supporting, developing and coaching a successful team of payroll analysts for a multi-province Canadian payroll.

In this role, you will

  • Support and act as backup for the Senior Manager, Payroll on all tasks
  • Supervise, develop, and mentor a team of Payroll Analysts
  • Own, assess, assign, and track to completion all incoming service request ticketing for the Payroll team
  • Research and address complex payroll enquiries, including creating detailed analytical reports
  • Maintain and share Workday Payroll knowledge to provide efficient payroll system administration
  • Set-up and maintain appropriate tracking to assist Senior Manager, Payroll with performance standards
  • Work collaboratively with other stream leads to share best practices
  • Execute special projects as assigned by the Senior Manager, Payroll and above, i.e., assist with testing related to new processes, system changes or upgrades including requirements gathering and analysis
  • Assess, recommend, and implement revised procedures as needed
  • Manage operational efficiencies by the timely monitoring/auditing of reports
  • Assist in year-end balancing / reporting

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years progressive experience in payroll, HR, or an employee benefits program role
  • At least 3 Years of Workday experience, and strong computing skills including with MS Office
  • Professional certification/designation preferred, or a willingness to enroll in Payroll certification
  • Experience in leading, developing, and mentoring successful teams
  • Customer focused approach with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience with timely solutioning of escalated issues using a ticketing system
  • Relevant experience in quality control, cross-system audit, reconciliation, and process improvement
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter and resourceful; ability to adapt and learn new technology and processes quickly
  • Collaborative, action-oriented, with strong functional / technical skills
