This role assists the Payroll Leadership team, coordinates monthly US payroll, and provides onboarding and employee support. The specialist ensures accuracy, troubleshoots payroll issues, and serves as backup to team members, requiring strong organization and analytical problem‑solving skills.
Responsibilities:

  • 75% of your time will be supporting Canadian payroll, 25% will be dedicated to assist with USA payroll. 
  • Assist Payroll Manager and Payroll Supervisor with various tasks and projects
  • Provide back-up to various team members to cover for vacations and leaves
  • Coordinate with US payroll service to ensure processing of monthly payroll for USA (50+ employees)
  • Provide support for US employees: Onboarding, maintaining employee records, responding to inquiries, etc

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience processing payroll for Ontario employees
  • Experience with US based payroll is an asset
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification with the National Payroll Association
  • University or College education (preferably in a related field, Business or Human Resources)
  • Superior organizational skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to handle fast-paced environment with many deadlines
