ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Payroll and HR Coordinator to manage payroll operations, benefits administration, and HR data management. This role will play a critical part in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance, and efficiency while also supporting HR functions such as contract drafting, benefits coordination, and reporting.

The ideal candidate is meticulous, tech-savvy, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. They will be responsible for coordinating payroll submissions, working with external providers, and supporting both local and global payroll processes.

WHAT YOU’LL DOPayroll Coordination & Compliance

  • Track and process payroll changes (new hires, salary adjustments, terminations).
  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee hours, tax information, deductions, and benefits.
  • Submit payroll data to an external payroll provider and validate payroll accuracy post-processing.
  • Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and international payroll regulations.
  • Support global payroll operations by tracking international payroll changes and coordinating with local providers.
  • Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and compliance reporting.

HR & Benefits Administration

  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for benefits-related inquiries and coordinate with providers.
  • Maintain HR data and employee records to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Draft and review employment contracts, offer letters, and HR documentation.
  • Track and analyze HR and payroll-related data, generating reports and insights.
  • Support compliance with Canadian employment laws and company policies.

This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage confidential information. The Payroll and HR Coordinator / Generalist will play a key role in ensuring seamless payroll processing and HR operations at LayerZero Labs.

ABOUT YOU

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in payroll coordination and HR administration.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data management tools.
  • Knowledge:
    • Understanding of payroll processes, benefits administration, and HR data management.
    • Familiarity with Canadian payroll regulations and employment laws.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
    • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
