About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for managing the payroll and benefits administration for approximately 100 employees in North America. While this role is primarily focused on employees across Canada and in 4 US states, this is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a growing, global company that includes responsibilities for payroll auditing in several other countries across EMEA and APAC.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end payroll processes for employees in North America;
- Ensure payroll is submitted accurately and on time;
- Perform all start-of-year and year-end tasks;
- Prepare reports related to payroll and payroll related expenses;
- Reconcile absence data with payroll records;
- Prepare and submit remittances and other government-related payroll and tax requirements;
- Manage the benefit administration (e.g., enrolment, benefit changes, and reporting) for employees in Canada;
- Review invoices related to payroll and benefit charges, submitting these to Accounts Payable once verified.
- Assist in validating payroll entries for employees in EMEA and APAC;
- Ensure payroll processes align to local employment legislation, company policies & practices, and the requirements of our various payroll vendors;
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries;
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and compliance with government regulations and changes to payroll-related laws;
- Provide back-up support for the Payroll Manager, which may include payroll administration in other countries during periods of absence.
About You:
- You ideally have a diploma/certificate in payroll, finance, or accounting and are a qualified payroll practitioner (E.g., PCP);
- You have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll processing, ideally in multiple Canadian provinces and/or in the US;
- You have exceptional organizational skills, analytical skills and attention to detail;
- You are proficient with payroll software (ideally with some ADP experience) and Microsoft products, particularly Excel (pivot tables and v lookups);
- You maintain sensitive and confidential information with integrity;
- You are customer-service oriented and are proficient in English (verbal & written communications), and other languages would be an asset, particularly French.
