Payroll Administrator — Maternity Leave Coverage
Term: November 2, 2026 – June 30, 2028
Job Overview:
As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing bi-weekly payroll while ensuring compliance with payroll policies and regulations. You will maintain employee payroll records, manage deductions and remittances, prepare payroll reporting and year-end documents, and provide support to employees and internal teams regarding payroll-related questions and issues. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage sensitive information and deadlines.
Job Duties:
- Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll.
- Verify timekeeping records and consult with production managers regarding any discrepancies.
- Record payroll data in Sage 50.
- Alter employee tax status and withholding information as needed.
- Record employee complaints, questions, and concerns regarding payroll, and escalate them to the HR Manager.
- Maintain compliant policies and procedures for payroll processing.
- Prepare T4s, ROEs, and various payroll reports as requested.
- Prepare and submit payroll deductions and remittances accurately and on time.
- Update employee banking records as necessary to ensure accurate payment processing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Canadian Payroll Association certification (Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of payroll department experience.
- Experience processing payroll for multiple companies.
- Strong computer skills, particularly with MS Office.
- Familiarity with Sage 50 payroll software.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
