Our team of 300+ Thinkers supports learning businesses around the globe, while working collaboratively to learn, grow, and succeed together. Join us to see how we’re building one of the best workplaces in North American tech!

We believe every candidate should have a fair, inclusive, and overall great experience when exploring a new role with Thinkific. Our hiring team is here to guide you through each step, so you always know what to expect!

Are you passionate about protecting trust and reading between the lines? As the Payment & Risk Operations Analyst (14 month contract) on our Payments team at Thinkific, you will be our frontline defense in vetting course creators, monitoring their performance, acting as a feedback conduit to our internal systems. Most importantly, you will protect the integrity of our platform while minimizing friction for entrepreneurs and organizations using Thinkific.

Your goal will be to minimize instances of fraud and streamline payment operations across Thinkific. Here’s how you’ll accomplish this:

  • Execute the creator underwriting process to ensure compliance and adherence to internal and external requirements
  • Reduce fraud rates and losses by reviewing suspicious account activity, spotting trends, and identifying connections to deter fraud attacks
  • Propose and refine risk procedures to strengthen fraud prevention while supporting business objectives
  • Champion the chargeback dispute resolution process and ensure our customers are supported and well equipped to win throughout the cycle.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for our Support team on fraud- and risk-related inquiries
  • Anticipate and eliminate friction in the payments process to protect revenue and enhance customer experience

The person we have in mind likely:

  • 3+ years of experience in fraud review, analysis, and prevention.
  • An innovative approach to identifying and handling risk combined with rigor and focus to achieve high accuracy on reviews, minimizing false positives and false negatives.
  • A methodical approach to developing new processes and improving existing ones.
  • A fundamental understanding of the chargeback cycle and the broader chargeback context
  • The ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
  • Loves to learn and grow. They’ve found (and keep looking for) ways to level up their skills in this field, whether that’s through formal education, gaining professional experience, or maybe even building their own business

These things would also be nice, but we think you could learn them on the job:

  • Experience working with Stripe or similar payment platforms.
  • Experience in analyzing digital content and identifying fraud originating from websites and checkout systems.

We’re committed to fair and transparent pay that reflects both where you are and where you can grow to. This role has a salary range of $71,000 - $88,800 - $106,600 in Canada, designed to capture the full journey from developing skills to excelling in the position. Most new hires start between the minimum and midpoint, which aligns with being fully capable in the role. Salaries above the midpoint are typically reserved for team members who have demonstrated strong, consistent performance, deep expertise, and a significant positive impact within the role.

For high-demand or hard-to-fill positions like this one, we may hire above midpoint for candidates who bring exceptional experience, skills, or impact potential.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging & Accessibility

This is just our initial idea of who we’re looking for! At Thinkific, we know that people have unique career journeys. If your experience is close to what we’ve described but you feel that you might be missing a few of the requirements, please still apply! We’re also committed to providing a comfortable and accessible interview process for every candidate. If there are any accommodations our team can make throughout our hiring process (big or small), please let us know.
