As an Outside Sales Representative, you’ll work to develop strong partnerships with new customers while offering unmatched value in our products and services.

As an Outside Sales Representative, a typical day might include the following:  

  • Build and maintain knowledge of SEL products and services solutions.
  • Prospect for new Customers and new opportunities with existing Customers.  Develop leads.  Cultivate relationships.  Work with application engineers and sales team lead to close sales opportunities.
  • Understand the true requirements and objectives of customers.  Determine, communicate and deliver the optimal SEL solution that best meets their needs.
  • Develop, maintain and deliver upon quarterly orders forecasts and sales goals.
  • Collect, analyze and report industry, competitor and customer trends to the greater SEL organization.
  • Work collaboratively to understand and drive the resolution of customer concerns and product issues.
  • Liaise between customers, contracts & risk, and accounts receivable to facilitate commercial relationships.
  • Utilize business tools to maintain customer relationship information, opportunity tracking and sales activities.

This job might be for you if possess the following:   

  • 2 or more years of experience selling equipment, testing equipment, designing systems, managing projects, or selling services related to medium voltage electric power systems.
  • Completion of electrical trades program, electrical engineering degree, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated success working in a customer facing role
  • Ability to travel 75% of the time
  • Effective and engaging communication skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Fluent in local language and business practices in British Columbia and Yukon Territory

 
Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience using SEL products 
  • Experience working in mining, water, petrochemical, manufacturing, data center, or electrical utility industry.
  • Knowledge and experience with high voltage electric power systems
  • Experience selling technical products and services.
  • Familiar with Consultive Sales Techniques
  • Familiarity with CRM tools

Salary Information

$80,000 - $120,000 CAD per year. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
