Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled network analyst to join our team.  Our network is highly complex and is the combination of a service provider and a traditional enterprise that supports credit unions across Canada.  We are in the transformation stages of the traditional data center network to a hybrid model including Azure and AWS.  If you are looking for a rewarding challenge, look no further. This role will be working with a great team of network analysts and having access to seasoned senior engineers to lean on.

The network analyst will be responsible for analyzing and monitoring network activity, identifying network issues, and implementing solutions to ensure the stability and performance of our network infrastructure.

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing, implementing and supporting a network environment consisting of data centers that are integrated into Azure and AWS.
  • Planning and testing rollout of new network hardware and system releases 
  • Analyzing and monitoring network activity to identify issues and potential security risks.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates to network hardware and software
  • Designing and implementing IT network systems of varying complexity
  • Script, automate, and test network routine network changes. 
  • Performing considerably complex troubleshooting of network systems in collaboration with other teams. 
  • Proactive involvement in incident resolution and root cause analysis. 
  • Developing comprehensive operational procedures for on-going support and change management.
  • Capacity planning, process, and resource analyses of the network 
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for existing and new network systems using detailed diagrams 
  • Monitoring security forums and vendor mailing lists, ensuring all network systems are up to date with patches and not vulnerable to attacks.
  • Core Cisco routing and switching (802.1Q VLAN, QoS, HSRP, OSPF, BGP) configuration and support. 
  • Firewall implementation, configuration, and support (Cisco ASA and Palo Alto) 
  • Load balancing configuration and support (F5 Big IP) 
  • Network traffic analysis and troubleshooting 
  • Communication infrastructures, VPN (Global Protect), MPLS, etc. 
  • Supporting a mixed Linux/Windows virtualized server environment. 
  • Providing technical expertise to various project and product teams to implement standardized solutions.
  • Performing other duties as required to deliver exceptional service and to support Central 1’s business goals 
  • Providing 24x7 on-call support in a customer-centric environment and resolving the more complex problems and interconnection issues with external service

What you'll have:

  • 4+ years relevant experience in network support, preferably with related network certifications.
  •  A CCNA or CCNP (preferred) certification is an asset. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in complex environments
  • Experience within a large enterprise IT environment 
  • Extensive experience with VPN IPSEC and TCP/IP
  • Strong Working knowledge of BGP and OSPF
  • Experience using command line to configure the network.
  • Experience with SD-WAN
  • Excellent communications skills and ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Network automation and scripting experience would be an asset
  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure 
  • Hands-on experience with network automation 

Hourly rate range is $65.00-$80.00.

The actual rate will be determined based on the successful candidate’s full competency in the role. Placement within this range may vary depending on market conditions and job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education or training.
