Job Description

The Modeling Artist creates various 3D models such as organic or mechanical, ensuring to meet the high quality standards of Rodeo FX.
Main responsibilities:
- Create various 3D models from scratch and/or from sampled photos, scanned references or any artwork necessary to create new objects or to match the surfaces from live action footage ;
- Work closely with the CG Supervisor, Asset Supervisor and Head of Modeling to find creative and technical solutions and approaches that enhance shots, while meeting project specifications and deadlines;
- May participate in the development of tools and techniques for the department;
- Perform quality control on assets before they are submitted for review/approval, ensuring all technical and creative standards are met, and promptly apply notes received;
- Keep Production and the project team informed of the status of work, issues to be resolved, ramifications of problems encountered and recommend potential solutions;
- Ensure deadlines are met, advising the project team promptly if delays could be expected;
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar position, within the VFX industry;
- Good knowledge of Maya. ZBrush is required for organic modelers;
- Excellent knowledge of the process required to build topologies for production;
- Excellent sense of prioritization and respect of deadlines;
- Ability to interpret realistic elements with a high level of detail and accuracy, with a good understanding of volumes and materials;
