Job Description
- Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the completion of Transportation Master Plans, Mobility Plans, Secondary Plans, Major Transit Station Areas, Environmental Assessments, and other Transportation related studies
- Prepare feasibility studies, functional plans, preliminary designs, transportation studies, traffic operations and parking demand investigations, traffic analyses and recommendations
- Assist with the preparation of methodologies, work plans, budgets and schedules for transportation planning and development mobility proposals
- Communicate with clients and approval agencies as appropriate.
- Participate in client progress meetings and public presentations.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation and issues.
- Provides project status reports on a regular basis and as required.
- Assumes related responsibilities and projects as assigned or required.
- Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, or related field
- Working towards, or ability to work towards, professional designation (RPP. P.Eng., C.E.T.)
- Experience in interpreting and writing planning policy, including master plans, land use plans, and by-laws
- Capable of producing high quality work under tight deadlines, while working both independently and in a team environment
- Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc.)
- Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Creative and innovative thinker with sound technical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, associates, and clients
