Job Summary

We are seeking a Mobility Planner/Designer to join our TYLin | Sam Schwartz City Solutions team in Toronto, ON.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Job Description

  • Duties and Responsibilities
    • Contribute to the completion of Transportation Master Plans, Mobility Plans, Secondary Plans, Major Transit Station Areas, Environmental Assessments, and other Transportation related studies
    • Prepare feasibility studies, functional plans, preliminary designs, transportation studies, traffic operations and parking demand investigations, traffic analyses and recommendations
    • Assist with the preparation of methodologies, work plans, budgets and schedules for transportation planning and development mobility proposals
    • Communicate with clients and approval agencies as appropriate.
    • Participate in client progress meetings and public presentations.
    • Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation and issues.
    • Provides project status reports on a regular basis and as required.
    • Assumes related responsibilities and projects as assigned or required.
       
  • Qualifications
    • Post-secondary education in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, or related field
    • Working towards, or ability to work towards, professional designation (RPP. P.Eng., C.E.T.)
    • Experience in interpreting and writing planning policy, including master plans, land use plans, and by-laws
    • Capable of producing high quality work under tight deadlines, while working both independently and in a team environment
    • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc.)
    • Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written
    • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
    • Creative and innovative thinker with sound technical aptitude and attention to detail.
    • Ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, associates, and clients
