The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for developing quality products that support life-changing advances in therapeutics that satisfy the demands and expectations of our customers.

This position reports to the Mechanical Manager and is part of the Engineering R&D located in Vancouver, Canada and will be an on-site role.  

What you will do:

  • Design & verification of drug manufacturing equipment and associated products.
  • Collaboration with operations team members to create drawings, work instructions and fixtures while following rigorous change control processes.
  • Contribute to process development and best practices within the Mechanical Engineering team.
  • Develop test plans, DFMEAs, PFMEAs, calculations and tolerance analysis and present actionable conclusions in design review meetings.
  • Participate in the containment, evaluation, investigation and resolution of quality events with external suppliers, incoming quality control and supplier quality management.

Who you are:

  • A recognized provincial/territorial 4 year engineering degree in one of the following relevant areas: mechanical engineering, engineering physics, industrial automation or mechatronics with a minimum of 8 years in product development/R&D.
  • You have proficiency with 3D parametric design software, finite element analysis, and product lifecycle management software.
  • You have experience with manufacturing processes encompassing single-use consumables, sheet metal fabrication, machining, plastic injection molding, 3D printing, or pressurized fluid systems,
  • You have knowledge of ASME Y14.5 with a focus on Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • System design, biotechnology, sealing technologies, sanitary equipment design, or material chemical compatibilities.

The salary range is 95,000 - 120,000 CAD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
