The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:
SALARY:
$80,000 - $90,000

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for optimizing the efficiency, effectiveness, and overall performance of the material storage and conveyance system across the facility. Primary focus is on streamlining processes, reducing costs, and improving the flow of materials through the value stream.

VSM (Value Stream Mapping):

• Conduct VSM analysis to visualize and streamline end-to-end processes.
• Map out the entire internal material flow process, from the point of receiving raw materials to the delivery of finished goods.
• Identify opportunities for eliminating waste, reducing lead times, and improving overall material flow.
• Create spaghetti diagrams and continuous flow pull system to include production leveling.
• Utilize batch processing to optimize production scheduling, minimize changeovers and downtime.
• Develop and implement visual management tools, such as Virtual Kanban / Pull Signal to provide real-time visibility for production planning and material flow.

PFEP (Plan for Every Part):

• Develop and maintain PFEP to ensure optimal inventory levels based on forecasted demand and regularly review and update the data based on demand fluctuations.
• Work with IT to leverage the (ERP) system to ensure automated PFEP data updates in real time as and when part numbers are updated for new launches, end of program or engineering/process changes.
• Design and configure warehouse layout to optimize space utilization with minimum travel distances for materials.
• Establish and continually evolve an organized and logical fixed storage system to reduce the time and effort required for material retrieval or put away through scanning that integrates with the ERP system.

Material Flow Optimization:

• Analyze material flows within the warehouse and identify bottlenecks or areas for improvement.
• Implement strategies to optimize material flow and reduce production downtime.
• Create & maintain standardized work for logistics long cycle work.
• Design and implement seamless material flow using appropriate material handling equipment, such as conveyors, forklifts, tuggers, and automated systems.

PDP (Exteriors Program Management Process):

• Participate in the APQP process to represent Materials and Logistics for launching programs.
• Coordinate and lead projects related to Materials and Logistics to ensure key deliverables are met and timely closure of gates.
• Update PDP/Trax system with supporting documents for Materials/ Logistics projects to ensure effectiveness, accuracy, and completeness.

Mafact

• Work collaboratively with the cross functional team to develop and implement the following Mafact elements:
• 4.07 Material Storage Design
• 4.10 Internal Material Flow & Line Feeding Concept
• Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace
• Comply with the requirements of CTPAT/PIP
• Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct
• Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior
• Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF16949 standards
• Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook
• Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
• Ensure work area is kept neat and organized
• Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field

EXPERIENCE:

• Proven experience in Automotive supply chain optimization, with expertise in Value stream mapping, PFEP, material storage design, material flow optimization, logistics process improvement, border of line and material presentation

• Excellent project management and collaboration abilities
• Proficiency in relevant software tools and methodologies
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literate in word & spreadsheet programs
• Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
