Job Description
Following its acquisition by Motorola Solutions, Silvus is entering a new phase of scale and strategic impact. We are expanding our Strategic Growth organization to shape demand early, influence requirements, and embed Silvus technologies into future programs of record across the U.S. Department of Defense.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Silvus is seeking a Market Development Executive (MDE), USSOCOM who will report to the Vice President of Strategic Growth on the Sales team. The successful individual in this role will serve as Silvus’ senior market-shaping leader across the Special Operations enterprise. This role is responsible for influencing capability requirements, building strategic relationships across SOF AT&L, PEO Digital Applications, PEO SOF Warrior, and USSOCOM Component Commands, and guiding long-term growth strategy aligned to SOF modernization priorities.
This position is not transactional sales. Instead, this is a strategic influence role -focused on shaping demand and cultivating enduring advocacy for Silvus technologies - enabling downstream capture and sales success by the Business Development and Account Sales teams.
The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Market Shaping & Strategic Engagement
- Leverage a senior-level network within USSOCOM and its Component Commands (e.g., USASOC, AFSOC, NSW, MARSOC) to shape requirements and sponsor Silvus capabilities within rapid fielding and modernization initiatives.
- Drive early visibility for Silvus in emerging SOF Programs of Record, Operational Imperatives, and rapid acquisition pathways including SOF AT&L technology insertions.
- Position Silvus within SOF communications and EW concepts, ensuring technical alignment to low-SWaP, resilient, multi-band edge networking in highly contested environments.
Strategic Coordination
- Serve as the senior “market anchor” for USSOCOM, coordinating a team-based pursuit model across Strategic Growth, DoD Account Sales, and OEM/Prime Sales.
- Align internal stakeholders (Sales, Engineering, Product, Capture, Executive Leadership) to deliver unified messaging and pursuit strategy for priority SOF efforts.
- Partner with Motorola Solutions and MSI Government Affairs to synchronize advocacy and policy outreach.
Intelligence & Influence
- Provide continuous market insight to Silvus leadership — capturing trends in SOF communications, tactical networking, and spectrum operations.
- Identify and cultivate emerging opportunities for long-term revenue growth through special operations acquisition channels.
- Represent Silvus at senior SOF, DoD, and industry forums to promote thought leadership for Silvus MN-MIMO waveform and Spectrum Dominance technology.
Accountability & Impact
- Develop and execute the USSOCOM Market Development Plan, defining shaping objectives, key relationships, and pursuit milestones in coordination with SOF Sales/BD stakeholders.
- Contribute to Silvus’ pipeline growth by ensuring multi-year program opportunities are identified and matured toward Business Development hand-off.
