Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Implement continuous improvement projects to address quality, material flow, through-put and productivity improvements
- Establish and drive improvements in OEE (overall equipment effectiveness)
- Provide engineered operational analysis and production support to manufacturing which will result in lowering product cost, improving labour performance, cycle times, eliminating bottlenecks and improving throughput levels
- Evaluate and implement corrective actions
- Determine storage space requirement and utilization
- Create standardized work instructions
- Develop moulding and assembly process for new programs
- Document process through process flow, flowcharts, PFMEA's, etc.
- Assist in the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process
- Lead efforts to incorporate new concepts into existing systems with particular emphasis on process repeatability, consistency, quality controls and automation, and cost reduction
- Actively search for ideas and ways to reduce expenses and improve quality without compromising superior customer service
- Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace
- Comply with the requirements of CTPAT/PIP
- Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct
- Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior
- Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF 16949 standards
- Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook
- Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
- Ensure work area is kept neat and organized
- Perform other duties as required
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- Pursuing University degree in Engineering with experience in Process Manufacturing (preferred), including Programs and Lean Manufacturing
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in moulding/assembly preferred
- Experience in automotive industry and asset
- Assignments in various manufacturing departments will be considered an asset
- Experience with automation controls, mechanical and process engineering considered a plus
SKILLS:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong leadership skills are essential
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Thinks conceptually and intuitively from a lean perspective
- Drives for continuous improvement
- Computer literate in word and spreadsheet programs
- Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Well-developed organizational and time management skills
