The Manager, SOX will lead and manage assigned business processes with a specific focus on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. This role will provide guidance in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective control frameworks. The Manager will partner with the IT SOX PMO to ensure compliance readiness for new systems and applications. Additionally, this role will assist the Director, SOX PMO Leader in driving automation within the SOX environment. Please note this a senior Individual Contributor role at this time with no direct reports.
What you’ll do
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert for assigned SOX business processes, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with SOX requirements
- Partner with the IT SOX PMO to identify and assess the implementation of new systems and controls as necessary
- Assist the Director, SOX PMO Leader with the annual SOX Risk Assessment
- Monitor emerging risks and update controls and processes accordingly
- Coordinate and lead the SOX business walkthroughs
- Develop and maintain business control documentation, including process narratives, flowcharts, risk and control matrices
- Assess control deficiencies and work with management to develop, implement, and monitor remediation plans
- Collaborate with various cross-functional leaders, including but not limited to Finance, Operations, Legal, HR, Sales, Engineering, and IT, to ensure the effectiveness of business controls
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate the SOX audit process
- Identify opportunities for automation within the SOX environment to enhance efficiency and reduce manual controls
- Provide guidance and training to management on SOX compliance requirements and best practices
- Assist the Director, SOX PMO Leader to prepare reports and presentation materials on SOX compliance status
What you’ll bring
- Demonstrated expertise in auditing and internal controls (e.g., risk assessment, process & internal controls, root cause analysis)
- Proven professional judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills (e.g., persuasion, influence, conflict resolution)
- Creative problem-solving approaches and solutions for complex issues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to utilize best practices on recommendations and audit findings
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of audit and SOX-related experience
- Extensive understanding of SOX compliance requirements and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO)
- Professional certification such as CPA or CIA is a plus
- Experience in the software/technology industry strongly preferred
- Experience working with AuditBoard is a strong plus

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.
