Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As the Manager, Sourcing, you are responsible for developing and executing category specific sourcing strategies to support the organization’s long term strategic plans. You will identify, evaluate, and negotiate with potential suppliers, manage existing vendor relationships. You optimize the global supply chain to ensure products meet cost targets while achieving Arc’teryx’s high quality standards. You provide insight and recommend sustainable sourcing strategies for your product categories and vendors to continuously improve speed, negotiate fair product cost, support margin, and best utilize supply chain capability and efficiencies.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

The Sourcing Team builds and executes a sustainable global sourcing strategy that enables us to deliver exceptional product at the right place, with the right quality and cost, and on-time. You will partner internally with Design, Product Development, Quality, Compliance, Supply Planning, Merchandising, Sustainability as well as externally with our vendor partners to identify and fulfill the sourcing needs of your category and deliver all products developed and commercialized by our vendors.
If you were in the Manager, Sourcing role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Managing your category and vendor relationships on long range planning, challenges and opportunities
- Reporting and driving improvement on key metrics that deliver speed, quality, cost and efficiency
- Partnering with cross functional teams and our external vendors to provide continuous improvements in speed, scalability, efficiency and consistency in our development to manufacturing process
- Connecting and driving progress on cross functional projects providing supply chain impacts and risk mitigation to the business goals
- Building, coaching, and guiding a high performing team of Sourcing Specialists who facilitate seasonal costing deliverables and model commercialization
- Managing processes and planning workload to ensure timelines are met to support delivery expectations
- Overseeing finished goods product costing negotiations and procedures
- Managing the commercialization and development of multi-sourced models
- Translating long range strategies to drive seasonal allocation and execution priorities.
- Supporting the sourcing and assessment and onboarding of new factories needed to support growth, category expansion and flexibility in our supply chain
- Developing and executing vendor strategies to ensure capabilities and capacity to support the business’ long-term strategic goals
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions
- Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain
- By working closely with the Amer Sports Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability team on quarterly business reviews and training/capacity building (at least annually)
- By adhering to negotiated lead times and balanced annual capacities to expedite responsible purchasing practices as outlined in the Responsible Sourcing Policy

- Proposing and developing innovative sourcing strategies for your product category that will create opportunities for cost savings, capacity, efficiency, speed and extend our development resources
- Developing action plans to mitigate constraints and vendor development plans to build specialty capacity needs that support our overall sourcing strategy
- Continuously building manufacturing and supply chain knowledge in Design, Product and Commercialization teams to further our manufacturing innovation and efficiency
Are you our next Manager, Sourcing?
- You have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Apparel or Textile Design, Technology, Merchandising, or Engineering
- You have 8+ years’ experience in sourcing, design, development, production, or merchandising, ideally including 3+ years’ experience in people leadership
- You have a strong knowledge of apparel construction, material construction and properties, pattern making, costing, bill of materials, embroidery and surface applications
- You have strong digital dexterity skills, including the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and leverage data
- You have proven skills in problem solving, interpreting design intent and product innovation
- You have proven performance history with domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills
- You have an extreme attention to detail
- You have strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- You set a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
