Job Summary:

As Manager, Operational Risk, you'll lead how we identify, assess, and manage operational risks across Central 1. You'll work with teams throughout the organization to strengthen our risk management practices and build a strong risk-aware culture.
 

What you'll be doing:
 

Lead Risk Management Initiatives

  • Partner with teams across the organization to implement and improve our operational risk management (ORM) and enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks

  • Guide the organization through risk assessments including Risk Control Self-Assessments, New Initiative Risk Assessments, and Fraud Risk Assessments

  • Monitor and report on operational risks across the organization
     

Drive Risk Awareness and Education

  • Develop training programs that help employees understand risk in their day-to-day work

  • Build a consistent approach to risk management throughout Central 1

  • Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on operational risk topics
     

Support Decision-Making

  • Create clear, actionable risk reports for management

  • Provide input on policies, standards, and procedures to strengthen our internal controls

  • Maintain our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform
     

Lead Projects and Collaborate

  • Facilitate meetings with stakeholders at all levels

  • Create project plans and drive initiatives forward

  • Build strong working relationships across different teams and functions


 

What you'll have:

  • Degree in finance, risk, business, or related field (risk designation preferred)

  • 5+ years of progressive risk management experience (business line experience is a plus)

  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities

  • Understanding of treasury and payments businesses

  • Knowledge of risk management concepts: operational risk, Risk Appetite, RCSA, Third Party Risk Management, Technology Risk, and operational resilience

  • Experience with GRC platforms, risk analytics tools, and Microsoft Suite

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to break down complex situations into clear, manageable steps

  • Strong communication skills—you can explain complex risk concepts to senior leaders and non-risk audiences

  • Proven ability to build trust and manage relationships across different teams

  • Experience writing policies, standards, and procedures

  • Subject matter expertise in technology, information security, fraud management, or other operational risk areas

Salary range: $100,000-$112,000

The salary range represents the job rate determined for the successful candidate who is fully competent in the role. The actual salary will vary depending on market conditions and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
