We are seeking a Manager, Corporate Accounting to be a key leader on the Global Controllership team, responsible for overseeing the corporate accounting function and ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of our financial results. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting, this position will be responsible for month-end close activities, complex accounting areas such as Revenue Recognition and US GAAP financial reporting, statutory accounting, and external audit support.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Manage direct reports, including hiring selection, coaching, mentoring, development, performance management and all other people-management practices, including DE&I.
- Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in a complex, multi-currency environment under US GAAP and IFRS.
- Be the ASC 606 revenue recognition expert, be responsible for revenue accounting and account reconciliations. Provide revenue recognition guidance and ensure compliance with ASC 606 as well as other standards relating to contracts with customers.
- Ensure accuracy of revenue and expense recognition on contracts with partners.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on the migration to a new billing and revenue system (Zuora), design testing, perform UAT, validate accuracy of results.
- Oversee full cycle accounting processes, including the review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Support interim and year-end financial audits, including preparing support documentation, liaising with internal stakeholders and communicating with external auditors.
- Act as a key member of the team in the development, implementation, and improvement of processes and internal controls.
- Support the Finance team with strategic initiatives, system implementations, and other special projects as required.
- Review and provide recommendations to improve and enhance internal procedures and guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- Extensive relevant progressive accounting experience within a team responsible for full-cycle accounting and month-end close for a complex global organization.
- Experience with consolidation and accounting for multiple currencies.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects with tight deadlines and having to come up with creative solutions to overcome obstacles.
- Proficient knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
- Strong knowledge of internal controls and best practice accounting processes.
- Experience with various finance systems and tools (NetSuite, Workiva, Salesforce, Zip, Zuora etc.) is an asset.
