We’re looking for highly creative, results-focused, and deeply skilled machine learning engineers/scientists to join us in building innovative AI solutions.

About the Role

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will research, develop and build impactful and scalable AI agents and frameworks. You will play a key role in designing and implementing pioneering AI technologies that drive intelligent automation and enhance user experiences across Workday's product ecosystem. This includes:

  • Developing advanced AI agents: You will contribute to the creation of sophisticated AI agents capable of understanding, learning, and interacting with complex systems.

  • Building robust AI frameworks: You will design and implement scalable and reliable frameworks for designing, deploying, evaluating and managing AI agents.

  • Partnering with engineers and product managers: You'll work closely with hardworking engineers and product managers to bring your AI solutions to life within Workday's products.

  • Leading projects end-to-end: You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from specification design and data preparation to model development, deployment, and monitoring.

  • Using Workday's data: You will use Workday's rich datasets to train and optimize AI models, delivering valuable insights and transforming how our customers operate.

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.

  • 3+ years experience working on a data science, machine learning or related software development team.

  • 3+ years experience in Python and supporting numeric libraries, with experience in shipping production code and models.

  • 2+ years experience in machine learning and deep learning frameworks & toolkits such as Pytorch and Sklearn

Other Qualifications

  • PhD or MS degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering. Publications in machine learning research are highly desirable.

  • Practical experience with generative models, large language models (LLM), retrieval augmented generation (RAG) systems, transformer neural networks.

  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP), containerization technologies (e.g. Docker) and data engineering pipelines (e.g. ETL)

  • Experience developing and deploying machine learning solutions using large-scale datasets, including specification design, data collection and labeling, model development, validation, deployment, and ongoing monitoring.

  • An ability to balance speed with delivering high-quality, practical solutions. Proven perseverance in overcoming meaningful problems.

Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $147,200 USD - $220,800 USD


 

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $139,800 USD - $248,400 USD

If performed in Colorado, the pay range for this job is $147,200 - $220,800 USD based on min and max pay range for that role if performed in CO.
