About the Role

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing business operations for the GlossGenius Legal Department, including process design and improvement, vendor and contract management, outside counsel coordination, legal technology implementation and management and department strategy and planning. You will work hand in hand with Finance, Security and other department leaders to define and improve the ways in which their groups interact with Legal. Over time, it is expected you will be a strategic partner for all processes touching the Legal Department, helping to mitigate risk, improve efficiency and provide excellent service to other departments at GlossGenius.

You will report to the Senior Counsel. Applicants in the greater San Francisco, Seattle, or Miami area, or commutable to the NYC headquarters (in-office Tuesday and Thursdays) are preferred, exceptional remote applicants will be considered.

What You’ll Do

  • Analyze and optimize legal workflows and procedures to measure SLAs, identify bottlenecks and increase productivity
  • Draft, implement and execute on Legal department playbooks, policies and procedures 
  • Leverage legal spend, request volume, contract, and other data to inform legal strategy and legal department planning
  • Oversee legal technology tool evaluation, selection, and implementation for software such as intake and workflow automation, contract lifecycle management and e-signature
  • Manage relationships with external legal service providers such as law firms and alternative legal services
  • Develop legal department budgets, forecasting, and monitoring legal spending
  • Partner with other departments, such as IT, Finance, Marketing, and more, to improve the delivery of legal services
  • Support longer-term initiatives around legal service delivery, policies, risk management, and more

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years experience working as a paralegal or in legal, compliance or finance operations, with high-growth private company and procurement experience preferred
  • High emphasis on detail and process, with an eye towards building processes that can scale with a quickly growing business
  • Energized and excited to implement tools and processes to make the Legal function as efficient as possible 
  • High integrity; experience dealing with confidential and sensitive information
  • Sound judgment; knowing when to operate independently and when to escalate risks

The starting base salary for this role in New York, California, and Washington is between $110,000-$150,000 + target equity + benefits. The base salary offered is dependent upon many factors including skills, experience, location, and education. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  Additionally, this role is currently eligible to participate in GlossGenius’s equity plan as well as a range of health & wellbeing, retirement savings, and other benefits within our total rewards offering.
