Role Description
We are seeking a Legal Counsel based in Vancouver or Toronto to provide strategic, business-focused legal advice across real estate asset management, development, and property management. The role supports governance, joint ventures, regulatory compliance, and day‑to‑day legal matters while developing scalable legal practices and precedents. This individual will work closely with cross-functional and global legal teams, contribute to responsible AI governance, and support the use of technology to enhance legal service delivery across the organization.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic, forward-thinking legal advice that is focused on the best interests of the business and its clients, with respect to:
the asset management, property management and development of real estate investments;
oversight, governance and growth of operating platforms and joint venture relationships;
legal and regulatory compliance matters, including privacy, anti-money laundering securities regulation and licensing;
Develop and maintain standard practices, legal documentation precedents, policies and best practices to enhance the efficiency and scalability of the legal function within QuadReal and across our operating platforms.
Provide legal advice in respect of various issues that may arise from the day-to-day business, including governance, corporate, securities, procurement, operations and cybersecurity.
Work closely with QuadReal’s tax, finance, communications, HR, IT, compliance, investor services and operations teams to develop, implement and maintain efficient business structures, operational procedures and risk management practices.
Contribute to the development of best practices for the responsible use of artificial intelligence and other technology solutions, and support the identification and implementation of AI-powered tools and workflows to scale legal service delivery across a growing organization.
Work and collaborate closely with QuadReal’s legal team based in Vancouver, Toronto, London and New York.
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor of Law or Juris Doctor
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience at a top tier commercial law firm and/or relevant in-house experience
Member in good standing with either the Law Society of Ontario or British Columbia
A strong interest in use of technology within legal practice will be a highly valuable asset in this role

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $150,000 – $170,000
Based on the position, QuadReal offers a competitive total rewards package in addition to the base pay, which may include a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, pension plan, and paid time off.
