Lead UX Designer
As a Lead UX Designer you’ll work closely with product managers, content strategists, UI designers, developers and researchers to create an elegant customer experience. As a creator of bar-raising experiences, you inherently look for ways to remove the difficult and make complex experiences feel easy, intuitive and have a seamless flow that helps our customers feel empowered. You confidently make — and defend decisions while creating user-centered online experiences in an agile environment.
About the Team
The UX Product Design team is looking for a passionate designer to join our cross-discipline user experience team solving complex problems for our customers in the legal and accounting space across the world. Our team loves solving tough problems and we hope you do too. Our work spans mobile, tablet, and desktop mobile experiences for all types of users. The team focusses on high-quality execution and high collaboration with our partners in product management and product engineering. About the Role
As a Lead UX Designer you will:
- Create and build – Rapidly iterate through journey maps, storyboards, user flows, sketches, wireframes, and other design artifacts to effectively communicate interaction and a dynamic content strategy. Have deep experience with responsive UI design methodology and processes (user-centered and iterative design). Create and set standards for prototypes used in UX research testing with industry leading tools.
- Be part of a collaborative team: Work closely with the UX Designers, Content Strategists, and UX Researchers in a collaborative team-oriented environment to create new products, features and functionality. Advocate for the user’s needs while developing features that align to the needs of the user. Set the bar for success on your team and your product.
- Be an Effective Communicator: Share ideas, lead peer-reviews, and exhibit strong listening skills. You justify and articulate design decisions during design reviews. You lead brainstorming and sketching sessions with product teams. You represent the voice of your team to cross-functional leadership and keep the product on track.
- Be Curious & Innovative: Continuously update yourself and your team by learning and leveraging new technologies and best practices within the field of user experience in order to enhance our practices. Turn user research and usability feedback into easy-to-use solutions. Gather, analyze, and synthesize UX needs for complex product and user requirements.
About You
You’re a fit for this role if you have:
Basic qualifications:
- 8-10+ years design experience creating simple solutions for complex challenges
- Experience leading responsive design with case studies in your portfolio
- Deep Information Architecture and Interaction Design experience illustrated in your complex application design work
- Experience with industry leading prototyping tools
- Enjoy mentoring other designers to up their craft
- Strong portfolio of work that illustrates your process, your level of craft and the results you have driven
- Familiarity with Agile development
- Confidence in working with strong, passionate, fast-paced team environment
- Strong time-management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred qualifications:
- BA/BS in graphic design, fine art, visual communications, HCI or related field (or equivalent industry training / experience)
- Familiarity with: Web standards (W3C and 508) / best practices for interaction design and Accessibility
- Agency Experience a plus

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $116,900 - $217,100.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
