Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Set up and maintain network test environments, including hardware, software, and virtual configurations to design, develop, and execute test cases for network devices, protocols, and topologies
- Create new network contexts to simulate different user roles, traffic patterns, and system configurations
- Analyze test results, identify network issues, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve problems, while performing functional, performance, security, interoperability, and failover testing
- Document test plans, procedures, contexts, and outcomes for compliance and future reference.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on testing strategies and requirements to participate in incident response and root cause analysis for network-related issues.
- Support network changes, upgrades, and deployments by validating readiness and identifying risks.
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training and certification on software and network engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Demonstrates how to develop secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others, with one or more programming language(s), scripting, and automation framework(s) (i.e., Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
- Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods, automate network test procedures, and data collection using scripting/SW languages
- Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of network security principles and best practices and experience with incident response and root cause analysis
- Hands on experience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs)
- Experience with network testing tools (e.g., Wireshark, iPerf, Nmap, Netcat, Spirent, IXIA)
- Familiarity with network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Arista) and virtualization platforms (GNS3, EVE-NG, VMware).
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems

- Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Practical cloud native experience
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Effective communication and documentation abilities
