As a Lead Product Manager for Slice, you will oversee the product development on the Consumer Commerce team, enhance revenue-generating products, and ensure a cohesive portfolio while driving business outcomes and leading a small team. Your role involves utilizing data analytics and agile methodologies to foster innovation and exemplify end-to-end product ownership.

Ilir Sela started Slice with the belief that local pizzerias deserve all of the advantages of major franchises without compromising their independence. Starting with his family’s pizzerias, we now empower over tens of thousands of restaurants with the technology, services, and collective power that owners need to better serve their digitally minded customers and build lasting businesses. We’re growing and adding more talent to help fulfill this valuable mission. That’s where you come in.

The Challenge to Solve

As a Lead Product Manager you will be working on one of our fastest growing product areas, which is critical to enabling the “reverse franchise” product offering that we provide to independent pizzerias and restaurants.

The Role

As a leader within Product Management, you will spearhead the product development within the Consumer Commerce team, an area which focuses heavily on topline revenue generation for our shop partners. Your team will improve, iterate and build new products that serve as the direct connection between shops and their pizza loving consumers. You will be responsible for a coherent portfolio of features and be accountable for the entire product lifecycle, whilst identifying new areas of investment (new projects) for the product or area.

The Team

You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders such as Design, Go-To-Market and Operations. You’ll have direct peer support from two Lead Product Managers who lead adjacent teams, meaning this position is one of three top level Product roles reporting directly to the Head of R&D. You’ll also have direct line management and leadership responsibilities for a small team. The day-to-day team activity includes defining simple, elegant solutions from understanding user needs and identifying when they may need to seek further research. You’ll be the product expert for Consumer Commerce with a deep understanding of the users, market, and technology while fostering innovation across the whole team by creating space for it to happen.

The Winning Recipe

We’re looking for a Lead Product Manager who is excited to build world-class products for small business counters. These are the core competencies this role calls for:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of Product Management experience within a commerce or consumer market place domain
  • A strong track record as a high performing individual contributor first and foremost, our leaders all ‘lead by doing’
  • Direct line management experience of Product Management colleagues
  • Experience both in analysing data to help develop hypotheses and then constructing experiments to test them
  • Experience in driving business outcomes, as opposed to shipping features
  • Demonstrated experience using some kind of product analytics tool
  • Clear passion for Design Thinking and being a partner to Product Design
  • Meticulous in taking care of the details and demonstrating end-to-end ownership of work
  • Fluent in agile software development
  • Familiarity with the pizza or restaurant industry a bonus

The Extras

Working at Slice comes with a comprehensive set of benefits, but here are some of the unexpected highlights:

  • Flexible PTO
  • Market leading medical, vision and dental insurance
  • 401K matching up to 4%
  • Monthly wellness reimbursement/stipend
  • Weekly pizza stipend (Yes, that’s a thing!)

Salary Range: $150,000 to $180,000

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.

The Hiring Process

Here’s what we expect the hiring process for this role to be, should all go well with your candidacy. This entire process is expected to take 1-3 weeks to complete and you’d be expected to start on a specific date.
