About the role:

As the Lead Platform Engineer on our team, you’ll be driving forward the technical architecture across platform infrastructure, DevOps and security, establishing best practices as well as contributing with hands-on work. You’ll be designing and building new services and workflows as well as enhancing and improving existing ones.

Collaborating with Engineering leaders, Product, and your fellow Engineers, you’ll help make decisions and lead projects that will lay the groundwork for Reach to help millions of Americans outsmart debt for good.

What you will do: 

  • Design, implement and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure.
  • Lead Platform initiatives including deployment processes, pipelines, infrastructure as code, security improvements, container orchestration, etc
  • Mentor and lead a team of Platform engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and other Engineering functions to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Own and enhance software lifecycle management tools and processes using industry best practices.
  • Create and maintain CI/CD processes across development, staging, and production environments.
  • Review code contributions and suggest improvements to ensure performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Champion sustainable delivery models and engineering excellence across the organization.

What you should have: 

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in a Platform Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, DevOps and/or Security Engineering role, with deep experience within AWS. 
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform (and/or OpenTofu) to manage AWS as well as other systems
  • Demonstrated experience with shell scripting, Python, TypeScript, or similar languages.
  • Experience configuring and deploying monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Datadog or similar.
  • Experience deploying, maintaining and scaling serverless and container-based systems (AWS Lambda, ECS, EKS, Docker, Kubernetes, etc).
  • Experience with with SSO SAML, OAuth 2.0 and/or Open ID Connect
  • Solid understanding of web services, databases, distributed systems, and service meshes.
  • Hands-on experience with security frameworks, protocols, and requirements when deploying systems that handle PII.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Fluent in the language of CI/CD and version control on top of Github

Nice to haves:

  • Experience in financial lending industry
  • Exposure to Salesforce in a mixed (Salesforce & AWS) environment
  • Familiarity with application security (OWASP, CWE, etc) and application security testing (DAST, SAST, SCA, etc)
