Job Description
Assume a vital position as a key member of a high-performing team that delivers infrastructure and performance excellence. Your role will be instrumental in shaping the future at one of the world's largest and most influential companies.
As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platform, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.
Job responsibilities

  • Develop Ansible playbooks for the initial build of base config, as well as vendor code upgrades of network infrastructure including Cisco routers and F5 load balancers.
  • Utilize technical expertise and problem-solving skills to facilitate and accelerate the adoption of strategic technical programs.
  • Lead projects or work streams focused on infrastructure engineering practices, including automation, capacity planning, resiliency, performance optimization, and security enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal service providers to develop solutions that reduce manual effort and support modern technology stacks.
  • Develop innovative solutions for the design, development, and troubleshooting of moderately complex technical issues.
  • Provide guidance on TLM migration strategies with the aim of mitigating impact on upstream and downstream data & systems.
  • Strongly considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Extensive expertise in one or more areas of infrastructure engineering, such as hardware, networking, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, performance, or security assessments.
  • In-depth knowledge of a specific infrastructure technology and proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Ansible).
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies, with the ability to operate in and migrate across both public and private clouds.
  • Proficient in multiple network technologies such as Cisco, F5 with the operational skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Knowledge of API integrations and RESTful services.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid knowledge of tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Drives to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of the product


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experienced in upgrading/building Cisco routers and F5 load balancers.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple service improvement programs and effectively prioritize workloads.
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies anddevelopment tools such as JIRA, GIT & Bitbucket.
  • Experienced with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) development.
