Lead I - Java Software Engineering

The Team:
The candidate will join IT, Platform Services to build new platforms as well as modernize legacy platforms into new and improved platforms. This position requires deep technical knowledge and experience.

As a Technical Lead on our team, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing internal content platforms. Your contributions will directly impact our business by enhancing the speed and efficiency, leading to faster decision-making for our clients and a competitive edge in the market.

To build enterprise ready applications that leverage automation, reducing the “time to market” for products without compromising quality, by using innovation and technical skills.

The role offers extensive business and technical challenges in a highly dynamic and collaborative work environment. This is an opportunity to work in niche business domain that is highly complex, and offers the right candidate opportunities to take ownership of components within the system using cutting edge technologies in a friendly collaborative atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

  • Understanding the ecosystem, and as a result work with various development, shared service teams within/outside the program on enhancements, new requirements, and impact analysis for any major changes – functional or technical. 
  • Work closely with product owners, to understand business requirements, provide solution options by create high level design documents for approval, and ensuring successful implementation by the development team. 
  • Experience in working with multiple application environments, and support business continuity across multiple geographic regions inclusive of Implementing DevOps culture, and use of tools to ensure Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery for application deployment and adhering to S&P security requirements for vulnerability remediation.
  • Technically mentor and guide a group of developers, leading them to meet deliverables day to day in an agile environment and adopting new and upcoming technologies. 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Hands-on experience with key development technologies including Java, Python,, HTML5/CSS3/Javascript and Bootstrap.
  • 7+ years of relevant related experience.
  • Knowledge of databases, integration architectures/patterns and data modelling is essential.
  • API best practices, application servers, cloud services (especially AWS) and code quality/secure development all essential.
  • Experience of DevOps, CI/CD and source control tools and best practices required.
  • Able to work independently to create POCs and provide technical recommendations for solutions to problems with supporting evidence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to author technical artefacts, present and explain designs to peers and development teams.
  • Prior experience highly considered in SCRUM/Agile methodologies for enterprise-level application development projects with the Ability to balance business priorities along with technical requirements and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines

Compensation (Only for US based candidates):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000 (USD). Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.
