About the role

We are looking for an experienced, highly skilled and detail-oriented Reserving Actuary to join our team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing loss reserves and provide insights to support strategic decision making.  This role involves close collaboration with cross functional teams, including finance, claims, data science, and underwriting. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive quarterly reserve analyses and profit share analyses using standard actuarial methodologies.
  • Develop and maintain models to project ultimate losses and assess reserve adequacy.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance data quality and usability for reserving purposes.
  • Prepare actuarial reports and presentations for senior management, regulators and external stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, computer science or a related field
  • 8+ of experience as an actuary in a similar role
  • Familiarity with programming languages (e.g. R, Python) 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and reliability

Bonus Points

  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) preferred
  • Cyber insurance experience a plus
