The Key Account Manager role is critical to drive Canada's Direct to Consumer growth and share of business. The Key Account Manager will create, execute and drive a retail sales plan, while playing a key role in driving revenue and optimizing margins for our Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) business. With responsibility of forecasting, inventory management, promotional and assortment planning, the Key Account Manager will collaborate with critical functions such as ecommerce merchandising, sales operations and strategic sales teams, to maintain operational efficiency while supporting strategic growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Ownership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive ecommerce strategies, to drive sales, improve customer experience, and influence strategic decisions
- Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and drive continuous improvement, with an obsessed with winning mindset
- Collaborate with Sales Operations team to ensure optimal stock position and forecast
- Identify new market opportunities and trends to stay ahead of the competition
Account Management:
- Deliver budgets/forecasts on weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis, and develop actions to achieve and outperform the agreed plan
- Lead and execute forecasting across all categories to attain sales, profit and inventory goals
- Monitor performance and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities and assess related risks; gain consensus and approval from internal stakeholders; communicate and implement proposed actions plans
- Work with finance to manage individual promotional budgets. Conduct GM/ROI analysis, ensuring effective investment and business planning
- Develop and manage relationships with internal and cross-market stakeholders to share learnings, develop awareness and importance of the DTC channel
- Collaborate with the website merchandising team, marketing and CRM to ensure we are promoting the right product at the right time to drive sell thru
- Attend financial/business planning meetings to ensure alignment with overall CA business plans. Represent and advocate for DTC prioritization
Sales Forecasting, Promotional Performance & Inventory Management:
- Partner with Strategic Sales and Sales Operations teams on forecasting, inventory, and supply chain management
- Input forecasts and confirmed promotional plans into SFO, maintaining accurate pricing and product information
- Track and adjust promotional sales performance using data insights
- Actively participate in meetings with cross-functional teams to review sales results, and impact performance
- Provide financial updates and support data-driven decision-making
- Proactively plan for risks and relentlessly chase opportunities to outperform and drive accelerated growth
- Quickly develop an understanding of the product and consumer base, including insights into our competition, to inform strategy and execution
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze website performance, traffic, and sales. Identify actionable insights and highlights for senior leadership
- Prepare regular reports and updates on DTC performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management
- Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments
ATTRIBUTES & SKILLS:
- 3+ years of experience in eCommerce, account management or promotional management role, ideally within a consumer goods industry
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent experience
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive collaborative results, embodying the "Winning is a Team Sport" success driver
- Strong analytical mindset with experience in tracking KPIs, understanding consumer data, and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Experience and proven success in managing budgets and forecasts
- Demonstrated expertise in eCommerce, with experience in creating and optimizing online promotional strategies
- Ability to prioritize effectively, pivot quickly, and embrace progress over perfection in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
