Job Description

The CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. We are actively looking for people who want to develop their skillsets, take on new challenges, and advance their careers within the organization.  

We are looking for a Junior Technologist to support the Buildings group in Vancouver with the design and drafting of building mechanical systems for an array of different building types in institutional, commercial and municipal infrastructure.     

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Design, modeling and drafting of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, building plumbing systems, fire protection systems, and HVAC control systems, using the latest versions of Revit and AutoCAD.  
  • Implementing redline markups from engineers.  
  • Working with engineers to ensure that all aspects of the design are coordinated with other disciplines.  
  • Design calculations under the supervision of a Senior Engineer.  
  • Occasional site visits to survey existing conditions and to document ongoing construction.  
  • Continued professional development through participation in internal and external learning opportunities.   

Qualifications

  • Entry level knowledge of Revit Building Systems and AutoCAD 2D;  
  • The ability to adapt to and adhere to internal and external REVIT/CAD and design standards;  
  • Available to work outside of the office on an occasional basis  
  • Valid Canadian drivers licence with access to transportation for site reviews and inspections  
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) in the English language.

The expected salary for this position is from $55000.00 to $65000.00 based on the richness and diversity of the candidate’s experience, training, skills and internal equity. The position or associated salary could vary depending on the profile of the candidate.
