Purpose of the Role

As the IT Support Specialist, you will provide hands-on technical support to ensure reliable, secure, and effective technology services across Svante’s corporate and operational environments.

You will support end users, maintain IT infrastructure, manage hardware and software deployments, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enable business operations and technology adoption. Working closely with the IT Service Desk, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and business teams, you will help deliver a high-quality technology experience across the organization.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • You bring experience in technical support, IT operations, or a related field, with a strong customer service mindset.
  • You have a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • You possess solid knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure services, and enterprise IT environments.
  • You have experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and user access issues across a variety of platforms.
  • You have working knowledge of networking concepts, including VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, access points, and LAN/WAN environments.
  • You have experience supporting Active Directory, Microsoft 365 user administration, including account and mailbox management.
  • You have experience with laptop imaging, provisioning, deployment, and IT asset lifecycle management.
  • You have experience working with IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms and ticketing systems, with experience using Atlassian products considered an asset.
  • You demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including the ability to perform root cause analysis and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • You are comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support users at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with CompTIA A+, MSCA, AZ-104, or equivalent certifications is considered an asset.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • You will provide timely and effective IT support to employees and consultants by responding to technical requests, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring adherence to established Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
  • You will manage IT service requests and incidents through the appropriate support channels while ensuring accurate documentation and timely resolution.
  • You will support employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including account provisioning, equipment preparation, and access management.
  • You will deploy, maintain, and support Windows 10 and Windows 11 laptops, including imaging, configuration, and lifecycle management.
  • You will manage IT asset inventory, ensuring accurate tracking, maintenance, and lifecycle management of technology equipment.
  • You will troubleshoot and support meeting room technologies, user access issues, and workplace technology solutions.
  • You will administer and maintain core IT systems, including Active Directory, Microsoft 365, user accounts, mailboxes, and related services.
  • You will support network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, firewalls, switches, and access points, in partnership with the Infrastructure team.
  • You will assist with corporate backup systems, disaster recovery solutions, and security best practices to ensure reliable and secure technology operations.
  • You will create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures to improve service delivery and knowledge sharing.
  • You will actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including technology enablement projects, manufacturing process support, and automation initiatives.
  • You will provide on-site IT support at other company locations as required.
